Has anyone else noticed a "high gloss" left behind after spraying Surge? This spray is alllllllright in my book
Cool! That hasn't happened to me, though...my hair is looking a HOT mess right now...some shine would be nice :look:.

I'm adding you now, Phony :).

NO!!!! LOL!! I wish!! My hair feels and looks like an old wig chewed up by a dog!!! BUT I have NO breakage going on!!!!! clap:

I'm not on the challenge but I'm back to using it after haivng it around for a year or so now. It was making my ends break butnow I just use it on my scalp. QUESTION....is it reversion I'm seeing or growth?????

hey faith, I really think that it's the new growth and not reversion..but I guess we will really know by the end of the month, when we share our updates on our progress. Right now, my new growth is getting out of hand, but my chi helped to stablize my "hand in new growth disease"

I want to join if it's not too late. I started surging daily with my mixture of surge and tea tree oil a few weeks ago.

Faith, I think that it's growth...mainly because of the progress I've seen in people whose edges needed filling in. The Surge seems to grow the hair back. That gives me hope that the reversion theory is just a rumor :).

Chica, no, it's not too late...I expected that some of us would be finished with our 30 days on the 31st, but that others would just bump the thread up days later to report their progress. No problem. I'm adding you now :).

I thought my eyes had deceived me because I could have sworn this product was drying to the hair! It seemed like it was when I used it a long time ago.

Anyway, you know those pix in my album of my Air-dried Bantu knots? Well, I had MAJOR shine that day! What's crazy is that I had sprayed Surge all over my hair as a detangler b/c I ran out of my MNT detangler. I thought it was a hoax, but it was really shiny. Maybe it dries it out over time, but I'm gonna try spraying it all over for the rest of the challenge to see if in fact it dries my hair.

The Surge 14 has made my hair really dry and it feels very coarse. I surge and let it dry, then oil my scalp and moisturise.

For anyone not experiencing this, what is your routine?

Are you just spraying your scalp?
Also what type of moisture and oil are you using. I use WGO or Scurl while surging. I make sure I do a couple of deep conditioners (moisturizing) as well.

Do you guys think that it would be okay to mix Surge and Scurl into one spray bottle for easier application?

Boca, I get this as well, but usually only after weeks straight of Surging. One thing that helps me is conditioner washing and adding moisture to my hair right after Surging. Sometimes, though, I think it can just be too much protein, and no matter what I do my hair feels coarse and tangles easily. I have been on the hunt for a super moisturizer, because I know that after 20 more days, I will be having drama. I'll keep you posted should I find a miracle product :).

Kitty, I think if you are using Scurl following your Surge now, it can't hurt to mix them together; however, if not, you might want to try them separately to make sure your hair can stand that much protein before mixing the two and potentially wasting some of each product. If you already use them back to back, though, it sounds like a timesaver imho :) .

Yes I only spray my scalp, then I let it dry and then oil my scalp and hair with coconut oil. I'm going to the beauty supply store today I may pick up some mango butter.

I will do a deep condition tomorrow morning and see if that helps.

Thanks

Thanks Dreems,

I will moisturise immediately after putting in the surge instead of letting it dry.

any updates on the results? Dreemssold are you going to add another pic ??

Hi curlybun ! I posted a wrap up thread, and I will bump it up in a sec. I am out of town, so I had my hair done and couldn't take a pic in the salon, but when I get home, I will take a wrap-up picture :). I am hoping everyone will post their pics and/or progress...I am interested in seeing how we all fared :).

I am down for this challenge as I just started surging 2 days ago. I finally kicked fear to the side & bought it, testing it for 2 days first on one area of my scalp. I filled one of my application bottles to use to apply it with because I want to make sure it is only applied to my scalp. I will condition wash & leave in my conditioner as always & continue with my scurl for moisture.
