I have decided to surge twice daily for the next 30 days, and if anyone wants to join me, I'd be happy to have you onboard!

Here are my plans:
I will condition wash my hair twice a day
I will follow with Surge Plus 14 on my scalp
I will moisturize my hair and seal with oils

It is not necessary to wash twice daily, but I have found it to be helpful in the past. Once a day or even less will be fine if that works for your hair. Take pics (or record measurements, for the camera-shy) of your wet hair, new growth, stretched hair, flat-ironed and/or pressed hair today and on January 31, 2005 to accurately gauge growth. This challenge need not interfere with any others (Baggie Method, Braid, Bun, etc). I know I am not stopping on the others I am in :).

Anyone else game?

I'm in, I've recently started surging again and now I will be more diligent to do it twice a day. I won't be able to wash my hair as often though.

Im in !!!!!!

I will co wash once a day and wear my hair in a bun for the month. This challenge is a great idea Dreemssold I dont know how to post pics but I will figure it out.

I'd like to join in on the 30-day challenge. I'm new to the boards but I guess today's a good day to stop lurking and actually become involved. I started surging a badly broken off area a couple of days ago.

i'd like to be in, but i may have to start late....i dont have any surge right now and i wont have a camera for a few days....but i am so down for this!
~T~

I've been surging twice a day since a few days before Thanksgiving. So far, so good. I conditioner wash once a day, sometimes twice depending on the circumstances, and I moisturize and oil my hair. At night I sturate the ends with oil and baggie them up. I wear a protective style 99% of the time.

So, I said all that to say that the challenge for me is to continue with what I'm doing. When I take some pictures, I will dd them to my album.

Count me in too!! I just started using surge about 2 days ago and I'll start doing cowashes every day.

Count me in!! I have been surging for about 2 weeks now. Stopped about two days ago, because of a trim and wash. I am ready to go again!!

Count me in I need to start back doing it twice a day. I've been only doing it once a day but it still works.

I'm in too but, I started last Wednesday. I have been doing the surge twice a day faithfully. I use to wash my hair twice a week a few years ago and stopped doing it because I felt there wasn't enough time in a day. After getting home from work and having to cook I was like forget it I don't feel like be bothered with hair and I would just watch a little t.v. and go to bed. It's a new year and I promise to put my hair first!

I will surge 2x daily, wash with shampoo on Sunday and Conitioner wash on Wednesday evenings. Goodbye to excuses hello longer hair! :)

Oh, cool! I was worried I'd be doing this all by my lonesome. Welcome, hopeful ! No worries, Covagirl and Shatani--Covagirl, you can just post your measurements and that's fine, and Shatani, just bump the thread to post your start date. Happy Surging, ladies !

dreemsold, I'm so scaaaaaaaarrrrrrred of the surge. I use it once in a while but it's so drying. Is that why you plan to condition wash twice a day? How do you keep your hair from drying out? what products do you use specifically? Will you give me your complete regimen?? I may want to give it a shot. How long have you been surging consistently like this?

I am in, I have been surging around my hairline faithfully for about the last two weeks. I really can attest to the fact that Surge does help. I started using it awhile ago (though not consistantly) to regrow some thinning areas at my temples, and the area is much thicker. The left side you can hardly tell I had any thinning problems, and the right side is coming along a little slower. Anyway, I don't know if I will be CO washing twice daily, but I will Surge daily and sport the buns. I'll try to take a pic asap and post it.

I am in...but I already surge everyday, but only once.I will bump it up to twice a day. However, I am will not update at the end of the month I will update at the end of 2 months. A watched pot never boils.

 You're funny, keylargo. Don't be scared! I plan to condition wash twice a day, partly because I know it can be drying, but also because when my cousin Surged, she had issues with her scalp, and that just scared me into washing before each Surge. It worked well for me, so I decided to stick with it.

Here's my Surging regimen: I condition wash with Humectress or Kenra MC. Lately, I have started with Suave Awapuhi as well, and this works for me, too. There is no rhyme or reason to which one I pick, generally all 3 bottles are at the bottom of my shower, and I just grab one :look: .

After that, I'm done, I part my hair and apply the Surge to my scalp. I follow up with a moisturizer. Again, no rhyme or reason, but I will apply Profectiv Break Free, Profectiv Mega Growth, or Elasta QP. Once in a blue moon, I'll use Sulfur 8. I mix the moisturizer in my hand with a little jojoba and/or castor or a bottle of mixed essential oils my friend made for me. I couldn't tell you what she put in it, but she's a health addict and always has a gang of essential oils onhand.

Without ever really combing my hair through, if I'm not going anywhere (90% of the time), I slap on my same old baggie and secure with a satin srcunchie. If I plan to leave, I just pin up a bun, and secure with Good Hair Day pins. It looks a hot mess, but this is usually how I do it :ohwell: .

I wouldn't say I Surge consistently, but since I started in late May or June
of this year, I have probably Surged for 10-21 days at a time 3-4 times. These 30 days will be the longest I've gone yet :), and after this, I probably won't Surge consistently again until March or even April. This schedule has worked for me, because usually after about 15 days, I am FED UP with washing twice a day. It also gives me a break from being a slave to the salon.

Come on, join in...if you get sick of it, you can always say bunk dreemssold and that darn consistent Surging  . If not, you're guaranteed at least a little length :) .

Dreamssold you must have been reading my mind, because I just purchased a bottle of surge today from my local BSS. :D My only issue is that my chemical free shoulder length hair is currently conrowed in a sewn in weave. Do you think it would be too drying to use this on my hair? I think I will use a little Natural Oasis hair oil a couple hrs after I surge to combat any dryness. I hope my hair doesnt do a SNAP, CRACKLE, and POP when I take these tracks out  !!!
I'm gonna take a chance and join in!

I'm in- since I started Surging, my hair is shedding less. I surge 2x day and add carefree activator, no drying or iching... I recently added ORS temple balm to my ends and in 3 days no sheddind at all! YEAH! I will definitely be in this challenge

I think I will try your carefree activator idea to prevent my tracks from drying out!

Count me in! I used Surge religiously about 6 months ago and my hair grew like crazy! I've been so bad with my hair recently, this will be a good incentive to get me back on track again.

Oneblessedrn, I think the plan to follow with activator or oils is a VERY good idea. I would just say, please watch your scalp for any signs of dryness or flaking, and it you don't see any, I think you'll be fine to continue :).

Keylargo, I personally don't bother with styling my hair when I Surge, because the only styling I know how to do after washing involve airdrying and since I wash twice a day, by the time they're fully dried, it's almost time for me to wash again  . Therefore, I just usually put it in a baggie bun or a plain bun. If I felt like walking on the wild side and taking one of my designated bun challenge breaks, I'd probably put just it in a ponytail :look: . HTH :).

I will be a part of this challenge I have in the past month been surging daily and I defintely see a difference in my hair line. I don't think that I will condition twice a day washing my hair twice a week is good for me. I also oil my scalp with essential oils and s-curl when I spray the surge.

I'm in I already surge twice daily and wash once daily in the morning with the surge shampoo..question, does anyone using the surge still use other protein products like the Aphogee treatment or Emergencee? I have been a little leery of using these products since I started surging on a consistant basis.

I've been looking for a reason to try Surge...now I have one
Count me in.

I'm going to buy it tomorrow. Which product are u ladies using?

Hey everyone, Happy New Year! I'm a newcomer who has decided to come out of the shadows. The full profile and avatar will come later on, but for now, I think this is a great challenge to start the new year off. I've been surging 2x daily for about 10 days, and I THINK i see some growth, but i'm not really sure. This is a perfect way to find out. Good luck, ladies!

Jada, I generally don't use a heavy protein 2-4 weeks pre or post-Surging because of the protein, and this has worked for my hair. If you think your hair is damaged or in need of protein, I wouldn't deprive it, though. Surge is just a light protein, but I find that when I overload my hair with protein, I end up wishing I had not :ohwell: .

Peachtree, the product is Surge Hair Revitalizer Plus 14. It comes in a tall 12 oz. spray bottle, and I've been getting mine from Walgreens. HTH :).

Here is the official list, although obviously, I will edit to add anyone else who wishes to join us :).

I'll join. I'll surge 2x a day followed by unbraid spray. I already do this to my hair but I'll add my scalp in there too. I'll wash weekly or perhaps twice weekly depending on exercize level.
