Use It or Lose It!​
If you have too many products in your refrigerator, cabinets, storage bins, etc., then this challenge is :flowers:. It is time to strategically reduce your product stash by using it up or losing it by giving it away. So join me in this effort by responding to the following:

I will also include the dates used, given away, purchased or added in parentheses.


5. Outline your criteria for if/when you will use your pass to purchase 3 products/quarter (12 products/year): I will only use my pass when purchases in any of the listed categories will keep my Current Count at less than 20 total items (changed from 42 on February 5th & from 35 on March 25th).

I plan to purchase only when a category reaches one and I need to replace a product. I'll try to resist sales, but sometimes staples will be gotten with a discount (although this is the gateway to trouble). That will be my pass.

I'll use a pass if I'm down to only one item in category, sales that are 40 percent and up. The goal is to be down to 15 items so I'm going to try to avoid buying as much as possible.

One question: say I have an oil mix and empty one of my oils into it. Do I have an empty when I empty to oil into the mix or when the entire mix is gone?

I usually estimate how much of a product I'm adding to a mix and when I use that same amount of the mix, then I count the product as empty.

Staples are italicized and pink. I do monthly empties and almost quarterly stash updates. I just copy and paste the list and anything used up, I just remove.

Given that I'm so low on leave-ins, I think that will be the bulk of my purchases this year. I'll try to keep it under 12, but if I go over, I'm okay with that.


I'm currently working on the Mizani products. The shampoo has the potentialto be a staple and I would repurchase the conditioner if I didn't have so much other conditioner to use up. After I'm done with those, I'll start working on the Joico products. My goal for the end of this session is to get my total stash count to 40 or less.
 
Today I knocked out 3 products: Alikay Cowash Me, Fekkai Glossing Cream & Embrace The Natural You DC. It looks like I will be able to use up 3 or 4 more by the end of the month.

BTW: I successfully avoided the BOGO Shea Moisture sale. Want He do it!!! Thanks for your support ladies during my time of crisis.

I just updated my stash by adding 13 new products. As I was looking at my stash, I have some products with very little to less than half in the bottle. So those items are on my hit list to be used up first.

I have a feeling that I will be adding more & more items as the year goes on.
 
I bought some sweet almond oil last night. All the oils I have now are essentials oils that need to be diluted.

I really want to try the new Shea Moisture lines. Luckily for me, I have no idea where to get them from lol.
