What is Twa?

I'm in. I had already decided to give my hair a break until June 2008, so count me in!

Like you, the relaxer (texlax) ate up my edges, nape and some of my hair. My hair HATES chemicals. I honestly don't wanna be bothered with pressing my hair, but I guess I will if I want to have some hair.

I'm just thinking about ALL the progress I could have made over the last two years if I hadn't tried this relaxer or that one. OH well!!

Cant wait to have some healthy hair up here!

I understand, I think the same way, Chemicals for some reason since I turned in my 30's just don't agree with my hair or scalp anymore, so Like you if I want hair I need to just stop before I permantently damage my follicles.

A Twa is a Teenie Weenie Afro!

Thank You Ladies for Joining!!!!! It don't seem like there are many Twa wearers anymore LOL!!!!!

I don't have a twa. Am I still allowed in on this?

I can't do the BC. won't work for me. So, I'm transitioning the ole' fashioned way... inch by inch, trim after trim.

Of course you are Welcome, because sooner or later you will have a Twa:grin:, I think it is good for you and your hair! We can help you and you can help us.

I'm in. I BC'd in May 07. Shouldn't I be out of TWA stage by now:perplexed?
These pictures were taken December 20, 2007.

Great DLove!!! No you shouldn't be out of the Twa stage, but you are almost out of it, Your hair looks so soft and fluffy, I always get so mad at this stage and then I relax it but now I feel different about it and I am just gonna let it do it's thing.

I am so glad you are joining me, even if it is 2-3 of us we will make it Happen LOL!!!

I guess when you can finally pull your hair into a puff LOL!!!! But your Twa is also very pretty naturalgirlz, I mean I don't even have a Twa yet LOL!!! maybe in feb i will have one:grin: This is like my 7th time and I want to go to a Full year, but in that awkward stage I get so mad, which is around 7-9 Months and it is too long to do this and too short to do that LOL!!!

But I don't know, maybe I am the only one with the Twa, well I don't even know what to call it because it is so short!

I really need encouragement. I started giving away clothes because from the neck down, I represented. From the crown down... no haps:lachen:Its like if my hair is not as becoming as I want, my clothes dont look good, the shirt doesnt fit well, etc. It is hard. But I am determined to make this work. I honestly do believe that my well kept and nurtured natural hair grows faster than when my hair was relaxed. When I look at Fotkis of women who BC'd in 05 and now have BSL hair (when stretched), I think in 2 years why didn't my relaxed hair grow that long after a short bob cut?

I got my ends trimmed today. I haven't done that in 4 months. Since August (dyed and trimmed), I dyed my hair (November) with oriental black Bigen. Just looking at those 12/20/07 pictures, it was time.

NappyParadise, I am glad you started this challenge. Keep the courage girl! Time goes by sooo fast. In no time you will be able to pull your hair into a puff. ITA about this being the awkward stage. I straightened my hair 5 times since August because I missed my relaxed hair and long length.

What really encourages me is when I straightened by hair, it didn't look good short anyway. I looked like a little old lady. I keep telling myself that while my hair is short not to try and style it out because it is not as becoming as would be if it were longer. Just let it be... a short fro, it looks better in that state than some short picky little straight hair mess. I plan on not straightening with heat for 08, unless, this MN kicks in high gear and I am shoulder length by the summer. Check out the "Here is my receipe ....again" post by Ieico6 (sp?) She concocted and used an MN mix, had neck length hair in Feb. and now has shoulder length hair.

I moisturize and plait my hair at night and sleep with a baggy on. I wake up to the most moisturized and wavy hair. I think this will keep me from eyeing the texturizers in the Sally's.

Welcome Fnggrant! your Twa looks good!!!!

Dlove I understand you LOL!!! But we will get through this, I had been wearing wigs and phony ponies but I am so tired of them, so I just said F-it, Sp I just Co- wash and let it be, It is all my fault my hair is short again, because of my BC's, My hair grew and grew nicely but I was impatient. But I see thiings differently now and have a different perspective of my hair, so as my hair gets bigger my body will get smaller:yep:

I'm in. I have a twa right now. Very low. I'm suffering from traction alopecia on my hairline which massaging nightly with EO's seems to be correcting on the left side of my edges.
I'm determined to stay natural for atleast a year so I'm def down for this challenge.

Can I still join if I'm already in a challenge?...I just joined the 2008 Boot Camp Challenge...I didn't see this one until now.

Of course you can join, It doesn't matter if you are in a nother challenge LOL!!! Anyone can join and it doesn't matter if you are Texturized or not. I know for me my hair is very short, maybe an inch long so I need this LOL!!!

I am happy to have you both:yep:

I'll have some of that~!

well, this is going to be my first post. I will upload a picture of my hair tonite when I get home. I found this website yesterday and I have been addicted to it ever since! My hair is approx. 2 inches long. It is single twisted at the moment. A very kind stylist called Rob from SOlBKNY.com in Forte Green did this for me on Xmas Eve. I am just keeping it tied down and oil it daily. He did trim my ends and advised me not to wear woollen hats as it was breaking the crown of my hair.
I would like my hair to cover my nape by June 2008. :drunk:

I want to join. I think I have less than a TWA but that's okay. Will post pics as soon as I can.

I'll surely join. Right now I don't even have a TWA I had it shaved all off. So I'm rockin a fade. But in 6 months my family will be surprised at how much it's grown. So, yea, I'm in!!

Here are my starting pics...these pics were taken on Nov 22, 2007 after I BC'd...I have braids now (since Nov 23, 2007).
