Ooh. It makes me think of a caruso set, but like...backwards. Like, instead of steaming the roller, you steam your head. It looks like it works too, although the reveals had me cracking up.
But I wonder if you could get the same results by using a regular hair steamer, but for like a minute.

And I wonder if the black woman is lurking around here. Her hair was niicee.

hmmmm it would like this to DC with maybe.

Watched the video. All of the models have fine, type 1 hair - except the AA model who has relaxed hair (might be hers, might not be ...). The end results i.e. after the curls are set and fluffed out look messy. This is the kind of look I got when I used to try and roller set my relaxed hair and then just air dry. i.e. Not a sleek, salon type finish so I don't see this widget as a replacement for the fashion industry as claimed.

It's not an option for curling natural afro textured hair, but I do agree the cap looks like a good dc chamber - i.e. a good alternative to bulky, hard bonnet steamers.

I like it. I think once they removed the caps, if they left the rollers in for another 5-10 minutes so the hair could dry and set, they would have had better results. I can see using for rollersets and deep conditioning. :yep:

ETA: $40 is too much for a microwavable shower cap. :look: If the price drops or I stumble across it cheaper, I might give it a try.

I like it, but as others have said more for DCs than styling. I went to the website, and it's $39.95...so I'm going to let others try it first and see if it's a decent steam treater.

this reminds me of the caruso steam setting machine. I wonder how long the curls would last though

Hey Ladies,

 I found the same heat cap and for cheaper on ebay. It is called Minute Curls Steam & Style Cap. I was so happy to save some money. It is 27.95 or best offer on ebay....already $12 cheaper than the other.

Glad I could help someone find a better deal on an identical product.

Yes! Just got it in the mail and it has a nice weight to it. Can't wait to use this thing and post pic. Plan to use it for deep conditioning and curling my hair. Now I can sell my Revlon Steam curler station.

Doesn't seem like you can use large rollers though. I can still use it for Dc'ing which I'm sure will be better than the conditioning cap I got from the BSS. Once I get the money I'll buy the cheaper alternative.

PS. I did not like the results in the youtube videos lol. Mayb it would have been better if they someone else other than the girls do it?

:lachen: at the reveals because some of them looked like GARBAGE!

Anyway, i can honestly say that i am not impressed but i do wonder if i could get the same exact results if i use my hair steamer.....hmmmmm

The Minute Curl steam cap really, really works! I was was very skeptical but went ahead and gave it a try. I was absolutely AMAZED. I use about 10 or 12 flexirods heated the cap 2 minutes in the microwave, left cap on for 5 minutes and cooled for about 6 minutes. When I took the rods down my hair was soft and bouncy with no frizzy ends (which usually a BIG problem). The curls lasted for about 2 days. I have 4a extremely coarse hair. This cap is definitely a keeper.

Loved our tuts on the Curlformers! Please do a review on this product when you get a chance. Your hair is so lovely and healthy. I think we have the same hair type. Would like to get your take on how this works. :blowkiss:

Do you have any pics?

A few of the women's hair looked too messy during the reveal but the way they curled their hair in the rollers was a mess too. Some of them looked like they missed entire chunks of hair and had hair sticking out all over the place.
Can't say I was impressed about any of their curls except the black ladies relaxed hair seems like she was the only one who knew how to properly roll her hair up in curlers. :/

Thanks Serenity_Peace,
So glad you liked my curlformer video. I will definately do a tutorial on this item and place it on youtube.

My #1 use for this steam cap will be for deep conditioning and #2 for curling my hair if I like the results.

Wow... some of those results were pretty bad.
PS. Why did the black woman in the video say it took her an hour to comb down a wrap? Really...? They must assume that other black women aren't watching. We all know combing down a wrap takes like 5 minutes.

i have a steamer and some flexi's so i'll just try it that way.
but i wish i had some caruso rollers so i could curl & steam at the same time.

matter of fact, thanks for the wash day idea! i'll post pics!

I have a similar product. Mine is called Minute Curls and I got it for like $20.00 about 2 years ago. Works great for me! I have used it to give me beachy waves and have used it for pin curls. I typically use it after I have gotten tired of my flat-ironed hair. Doesn't make my hair frizz or anything and I am transitioning..about 2.5" of my hair is still tex-laxed and I am apl now.

Why can't I part with that 2.5 inches? hmm, that's another thread....lol
