They look great.

I have had thin braids and twists done by a pro many times and they never took 15 hours....8 hours tops.

The price is fine. If you went to the salon every 2 weeks and paid $60.00 that would be $240.00 in 2 months , people don't think of it like that plus any product you may buy.

I would definitely take care of them and keep them in for at least 3 months. With twist like that you can do different styles and maybe even go get the edges re done after about 6 weeks.

I plan on getting kinky twists at the end of the month and hopefully this will be my Spring and Summer look with every 6 week touch ups.

My hair is gonna have a nice vacation.

Wow! I've never had braids that have taken less than 10 hours and the last time I had them done I know it took about 14 + (over a couple days) I can't stand sitting too long. lol

Very pretty!

If you start getting bored with the twist try styling them different ways or using hair toys. I love braids for this very reason.

My fav. braid style is to tie my hair in the front into a knot. Take the front half of your braids and divide it into to parts (left side and right side). Literally tie them together as if you're tying a knot. Secure the ends with a scrunchie or clip. Makes a cute updo. Be sure not to tug or pull your edges too tight.

They look really nice :yep: worth it, but still for that money I would keep those bad boys in for as long as possible

I'm kind of an el cheapo

Wow, they look really pretty. I'd love to see a scalp shot so I can see the size of the boxes and I'd love to see a shot of the length from the back. Do you know what kind of hair was used?

Lovely!

I have questions,though...
How did they come out to be $240? the service cost vs. the hair cost
Is your hair natural? (mine is and it shows through box braids :()

Thanks again!

I took scalp and length pics yesterday but deleted the length pic...i will post the sclap pics now and the length later today.

they used 100% kanelon (sp?)

That was smidge high on the price, but they look great! I would love to twist or braid up my hair, but the last time I paid for kinky twists, I only left them in for 2 weeks.

sure....
I'm not really clear on your question but I will attempt to answer it. the total cost was $240 which included the hair. they quoted me $230 over the phone when they started the lady said, "$250" and I said, "you said $230 on the phone" she said, "mid back is $230" i said "and that's what i asked for!" she said, "but your hair is so long" I said, "yes it is but it's not mid back so its not like you would have had to cut my hair to stop at midback!" so i agreed to give her $240 because they are sooooooooooooooooo small!!! also i kind of felt bad cuz i had to put her in her place about the length of my hair...don't give me a reason for over charging that doesn't even make sense...geeze. anyway i'm happy they actually went down further i think i like this length more than i would have the midback...so i guess my next trip will be $250....:ohwell:

sorry almost forgot to answer you other question....no i'm relaxed...but i'm 11 weeks post relaxer...

BEAUTIFUL I am mad they charged you 240 its 150 in NY but well worth it you will not get bored you have ALOT of style options

I have never spent more than 8 hours on some occasions maybe 9.

The reason for this is that my braider has been doing it for almost 30 years. She has developed a good speed and on occasions she will attach the braids and braid them down about 3 inches and then her daughter will braid down the length my own hair is past shoulder length (at that time) while she continues to attach the hair and braid down.

My braids are always tiny. I like doing different styles.

I may post a pic. I'm shy about putting pics on the net.

Oh, I'm in NY and she only charges me $150.00 because I've been her long time client. For a good pro braider I expect to pay more.

My kinky twists will cost much more but the lady that does them has been in magazines and high end salons. I don't mind paying because she treats my natural hair very tenderly . She washes , conditions and combs very gently . That's important to me.

Hey ladies....

to answer the questions about the 15 hours and $240....

15 hours: i do not like sitting that long but i could not get upset with the time because she was not a slow braider by no means and considering the size of the box....THERE AREN'T ANY...they are literally so tiny there are no shapes to the individual braids if that makes sense. they are so small they make my hair look thin and my hair is FAR from thin & i am currently 11 wks post.

$240: i work hard for my money and don't normally splurge like this...but it was one of times where you're saying to yourself..."you know i work hard every day and if i want something nice i dam well deserve it!!!" let me add...$200 (shoulder) $230 (mid back) $250 (lower back) is the going rates in St. Louis.

so there you have it... IMO it was worth it...will i do it again...most certainly!

i accidently erase the length shots but here are the scalp shots....will retake length shots tonight...have my hair in an updo today. i even took pic of the crown...THEY ARE JUST TINY ALL OVER!!!

Again thanks for the reviews!!!
