What weave lengths correspond to the different hair lengths? I really want to get Halley's Curls relaxed texture. 12 and 14" are sold out. They do have 10 and 18" right now. About long would 10" be? Is it a little above APL because I think that would look the most natural on me.

10 = b/t SL and APL
12 = APL
14 = BSL

Help me out here. :lachen:
 
Hmmmm...I think it depends on the individual. Me, personally, would not buy anything less than 16in. I take into consideration that my stylist needs to cut off some inches for layers. So.....I would say get the 18 in to be safe.
 
I bought a 10" for a sew in. It was bra strap length, and I asked my stylist to cut it to APL/collar bone length.

In my experience with halley's curls, their 10 inch was too short for me; I had the same problem, I was ordering virgin indian hair and they only had 10 inch left at the time and I figured since 14 inch is BL on me, than 10 would be shoulder. The back touched shoulder, but the front, (since it has to be shorter in the front because its higher) was way to short for my likings.

How long do you want it and how tall are you?
 
I agree that it depends on the person...every length isn't going to look the same on everyone b/c people have different shaped heads, and are different heights etc....I never get anything longer than 10. That is about APL on me. It may be better to go longer, and cut it than to go shorter and not have the length that you want.

I'm 5'6" and I want it APL.
 
I would go for the 18". The 10" will be too short. Like a pp said, the front will be short, even before you cut it.
 
Regarding the front being short, I already have bangs so I'm used to it being short. :lol: I just want something that (in the back) straight is APL and curled in a little below SL. I don't need to swing like Beyonce y'all. I just need to keep my hands out of my hair. :lol: So should I just wait until they 14 in stock? I could get 16".
 
How tall are you? I'm 5'9" and 12" is a few inches from APL for me.

ETA: OH never mind. I see you answered. I would probably go for 14" if I were you, just to be safe.
 
I'm a shortie (5'6) and 10 inches is APL on me. I don't mind the shorter front because I like layers.
 
Yeah its weird because my best friend who is 5'4" uses 12 inches and it never looks long, a little above APL on her but when I buy it, its almost bra-strap. Im 5'8''. I think it depends on head shape or something because it doesnt make sense.

When I do my weave I use 12inches at the bottom and 10 on top for a more natural appearance.

How many people are actually measuring the hair? I know that somw brands of hair generally include extra inches. It has been my experience that the hair you buy in ounces (instead of in bags) usually isn't so generous. I know that my Halley's is exactly what it says it is.

OP you might just want to go to the bss (with a measuring tape or ruler) and ask them if you can hold different brands up to your head ans see for yourself how it hangs on you.
 
I think I might get the 10 in. (not for another few weeks though). It's $55. :)
 
wow 12 inches is midback, almost waistlength for me. i think the brand i used has extra inches though
 
Try using a tape measure to get an idea of where it would be on YOU. Halleys Curls measures to the true length unlike some BSS brands that might be a little generous. 10" on me is SL 12" is APL and 16" is about BSL. Keep in mind though that since they measure by weight, the longer the hair, the smaller amount of coverage you get. So basically for 10" you maybe could get away with one bundle depending on the style and placement but you will definately need two bundles if you get 16".

How do you measure to get the best estimation of length?

EDIT: nevermind, I figured how. I cliped the beginning of a tape measure about 1.5 inches above my nape, which is where the furthest down track would be. 10" was APL and 12" BSL. I think I'll get the 12" because I'd like to wear it wavy to curly and I think it would be APL like that. I don't know if you can see these (they are from Facebook), but this is how I liked to wear my hair in high school and it's how I wanna style my future weave. They are kinda blurry, but you get it.

Buuuuut.... Halley's Curls (which is the only expensive hair I wanna get right now) is sold out of 12" relaxed texture. I was looking at their Virgin Malaysian, which is naturally wavy. Anybody have any experience with that?
