*1 year Nappiversary* (lots of pics)
So it's been nearly a year since I embarked on my natural journey. I bc'd on the 29/01/11 after transitioning for 5 months (last relaxer 25/08/2010). I have coarse, medium density, mostly 4b hair with some patches of 4c in the crown and 4a in the nape. I don't really have a hair regimen per se, as I'm still trying to figure out my hair. But some of my staple products include, Paltas bk hair treatment, which I don't use as much as I should and I wash and condition ever 2 weeks with the Aphogee protien shampoo and condit. I've just started using Tresseme naturals conditioner and Organics olive oil moisturiser and my hair seems to like them. For my last few shampoos, I have used the Silk Elements luxury shampoo and I've noticed my hair has become very porus.
I have used the following products on and off; Cantu shae butter, AtOne, coconut oil, olive oil rinses, blue magic hairdress, world of curls, Eco styler, main and Tail condit, Vo5 give me moisture condit and many more!!
So for 2012, I plan to incorporate the following products and methods to help restore my hair and mend my ends.
Roux porosity control
ACV rinses
Tea rinses
Castor oil sealing
Henna treatments
Baggying
sleeping with a silk scarf on my head.
Water, water and more water.
Organics hair mayonnaise
I was taking HSN vitimins, Biotin and MSM, but had to stop as I found it was worsoning a skin condition that I have. I might slowly try to reintroduce them into my regimen as I did find that it helped me to grow my hair.
Yesterday I flat irond my hair after washing, dc'ing then blow drying with a cheapo hairdryer on low heat using the tension method. I used Grapeseed oil as a heat protectant. I used an inepensive Nicki Clark flat iron (2 passes only). I think it came out ok but my ends are horrible. I plan to cut them of gradually (1/4 inch per month) whilst nursing my hair back to a healthy condition. Anyway, enough talking..time for the pictures;

So after 1 year, I'm shoulder length. Yay!
