Kitchen Mixtress
I was really hoping to get an inch Aug-Sep, maybe 1.25” if I were lucky. But I shocked myself to discover .75”-1.75”+ f new growth throughout my cornrows.
I get bored/lazy with my hair easily, so I’m mostly posting in an effort to be more accountable, because I really want to try to replicate the results for the rest of the year.
I know I’ve formerly experienced what I believe was my hair “getting used to” a growth aid and getting spectacular results only a handful of times (still better than normal).

I just have to find the time and energy to reset my cornrows. :drunk: The temptation to stretch them out another week or two is strong but I have a lot of new growth to be tempting fate.

Anyone want to share what their best growth has ever been in a month? And what you did to achieve it?

Mine is 2” in a single month. It was June. And I was doing THEEEE most to achieve it. :lachen: I definitely feel like summer is my growing season.
For these results, I’ve been M&S almost daily with a rice water based spray and a homemade growth oil (that I mixed 50:50 with some WGO I trialed for the last 2 weeks), along with increasing daily activity, a hair gummy vitamin & multivitamin, and collagen supplement.

My posted pics are 8/3/2020, then Tuesday of this week 9/1/2020. I had such a time photographing my new growth as my cornrows would roll between my fingers when I would angle my head to get in frame of the camera. I could clearly see 1.75”+ of growth throughout my crown, and about .75”-1” around my perimeter and about 1.5” in the back of my head in the mirror though. So exciting I had to share, and also try to motivate myself to update my thread.

So my next 30 day install is FINALLY complete.
I’m glad I gave my hair a break for a few days. I installed this set of cornrows today, 9/13/2020 and plan to take them out 10/13/2020. HOPEFULLY with at least another 1”+ of new growth. In my zeal for accuracy, this is now the second set I’ve braided just a smidge too tight. Gratefully, this ain’t my first rodeo and I did them myself so I’ll be taking an Advil tonight (and possibly tomorrow night) and calling it a day.

HHG everyone!

I could’ve probably gone another 3-4 weeks in this style. But it’s been 30 days.
I think Spring/Summer are my growing seasons, especially summer. It’s hard to say if I’d have gotten better results if I’d been more consistent (I tried but Life kinda got in the way of my routine). But I feel like my results this round were too mediocre for the effort I put in, yet I’m still pleased with my results, if that makes any kind of sense.

so, mediocre results this round were: +~1” at the most, in my crown; +.75” along most of my braids. Just +.5” around my perimeter. I really like the methods I used, and they’re relatively easy to implement but consistency is my haircare kryptonite:giveup:

Even though this round’s results were mediocre, I’m looking forward to round 3. Not sure when I’ll be pursuing it, but I’ll definitely be comparing/contrasting here. Maybe I’ll have a tripod and one of those clicker things by then lol
