Is this style too cutesy for a 35 year old woman?

Its cutesy and I know I couldn't get away with it (I'm 38) but like Kacie said, you could definitely get away with it by wrapping the curly tendrils up in the bun.

I see the pics, but where's the 35 year old woman? :wink2:

You look much younger than that (regardless of hair). I agree that "scratching the tendrils" would make you look more age appropriate.

I like the style on you. You have a young-looking face anyway. I think as long as your clothes are not "young" you will be just fine. I have a girlfriend who looks younger than her age as well and who wears hair to suit how she looks, and she balances it with trendy but mature clothing - pants suits, dresses, etc.

Makeup and minimal jewelry should set it off nicely.

Cute style!

Ok I made the changes you lady suggested. I ran my fingers through to relax the curls, so it doesn't look so shirley temple.

Yes. And I agree with getting ride of the tendrils.

ETA: ^^^ Much better! And you do have a young face, but since you were asking the question, I didn't think you wanted to walk around wearing a 15 year old's hair style.

Either way looked great on you!!!!!!!! It didn't look to young to me. When I read the title I was thinking barettes and big hair balls. LOL

I like the "after" do. Looks like a nice PS.

Yep. Like they say "Black don't (usually) crack" :yep:

OT: Isn't 35 supposed to still look young? All of the 35 year olds I know could still pass for a twenty something.

I like the hair style! It is very cute and makes you look younger, however, you do not look 35 years old! ;)

Hey ladies
thanks for all your help.
and the compliments I didn't expect that
you make an ole lady feel good

Ok later all I gotta ZUMBA!

Girl, please! I wear what I wanna wear, when I want to wear it. I don't see how different that style is from having hair pulled up into a curly ponytail. Cornrows are not a kid hairstyle, so just because hair isn't brushed up but cornrowed doesn't make it a kiddish do.

But don't listen to me, not only do I march to the beat of my own drum, ignoring the masses that make IMO silly rules (Like no white after Labor Day--pshaw, try stopping me!), but I'm also the one who shamelessly wore this hairstyle to the office. :giggle: So unless you want to be thought of as being related to a weirdo (Scary thought when you think that would be me, huh?), I'd listen to the masses.

I think you look fantastic with the front pieces tied up in the bun.

You'll have to come back and share your skin care routine with the rest of us. You look fantastic!

Nonie, you crack me up! :lachen:I love reading your posts.

OP, your hair is cute & I do like it better with everything pulled back. I agree with the poster that said 35 is suppose to look young. I've seen some people who claim to be in their mid 30s & they clearly have not aged well, but its not usually people of color.
