Im not trying to be funny yall, for real. I think I'd would have big chopped at 1 month if I knew I'd look alright. I have a long face and a big head. I just don't see how a short do would look good on me.

Ooo Sweetheart, I am feelin' You!, My Dome is Gigantic, and I stopped wearing short styles when I realized how ridiculous I looked!:nono:

Lmao at the question, that's how i feel too. I've been transitioning for a almost 5 months and i woulda big chopped months ago if i thought i'd look good, it's not just about having a big head for me, i just think my face is not really feminine... so i just cannot.

I have a big head and I still BC'ed. I do regret it I should have transition; it would have saved me some money on buying wigs.

I'm glad you brought this up. I'm having the same issue with natural, no heat styles like bunning. My big head needs BANGS bad... but I can't get that with no-heat hair!

Many years ago, I did a big chop (that I came to regret)--because of my large noggin.

When I transitioned most recently, I did so gradually--cutting off a bit at a time. I'm now 100% natural. It worked for me. :yep:

Why did you make me really LOL, OP?!!!! I BCed about 6 years ago and I don't have a small head.

Yes! lol...people would say I had a five-head..smh...My face is round and I have a big head, it just wouldn't look right lol

On my first attempt to transition I BCed down to maybe a little over an inch? Can't remember. I just really remember how HUGE my head looked.

Im gonna try to make it to at least 8 months. But its gonna be in braids, lol.

LOL....I love this thread.

I too have alot of knowledge (as mother would say), which, always comes to mind when I toss around the notion to go natural.

I wear regular bss wigs....no straps though:lachen:

OK..so you are either not as big a big head as you think or I am more of a bobble head than I think :lachen: to tell the truth, I'm too embarrassed to go to the bss and try on wigs. I would be TOO through to have the asian ladies there laughing at me and snickering under their breath at me lmao

My head is big but it's my Will Smith ears that gave me pause. I still shaved it all off and I ended up loving it.

no, trust me i can hardly walk straight :nono: LMAO, I feel the same way thats why i take the risk of buying it without trying it on...ooo the perils of havin a big head.

Long Face, 4-5-6head and all...I just couldn't help myself! And my husband liked me better with 1/8 of an inch than now with a twa!:spinning:

I waited 4 months to BC because I have a somewhat big head and it worked for me. The almost 4 inch fro kind of helped balance my noggin out

LOL!
It was my thin & long face that kept me from big cutting. I need volume to balance things out hence my love for BIG hair! I'm now completely natural in the back & front of my head & have about 2 or 3 inches in the top & sides to whack off before I can say I am completely natural. I need those ends to add volume to my twist outs & roller sets.

:lachen::lachen::lachen:

i'm not transitioning... i'm relaxed... but i must say that my big head keeps me from rocking a whole lot of styles... i definitely have to be conscious of how i do my hair due to this watermelon sitting on my neck.

I have a big brain *cough cough* so that's why I waited till I had 5" of hair before doing the BC. Its not my fault if I'm wicked smaht (you gotta say it with a Boston accent LOL)

yep, count me in on the "big head" club. i saw so many transitioners on a couple of forums, and i thought, "Wow! i can't wait to get to the point of having a TWA. Then folks can "appreciate" my features - first, then my hair."

I realized that many of the people who took pics of their big chop - had little heads. I did the big chop, and realized i had a big head to match it.

So i'm growing my hair out with a afro/kinky/curly weave.. and when my hair finally matches the 10" that i'm wearing now, then i'll get rid of it. But until then...

i'm thinking of hiring my head out as one of those "Macy's Thanksgiving Day Balloons" they have floatin' down the street every year. They won't even need restraints to hold it down since it's attached to my neck, anyway.:(
