I know you guys have heard this dilemma before but I need some advice. I looked through some old threads already. My hair always feels tight for a day or two after I get it done but this time....:nono: it is killing me:wallbash: but only in certain places in the front. It didnt even feel tight when she was braiding it!

I tried putting doo gro oil on it, and olive oil moisturizer and a leave in. It helped for a bit but it still feels like my head is on fire. I tried loosening the track cause I dont want to take it out but idk what else to do.

Are there any other products I could try?

I attached two pics of the main problem area.

Are you able to massage your scalp any or is it so tight that you can't?

I'd give the stylist a call and see if she can redo that section. There's nothing worse than a sew-in headache.

ETA: along with damaging your hair as well.

I've never had a weave, but that area looks red / sore / tender. Maybe you can try putting some Neosporin on it.

Ouch! It looks tight... Go back to the stylist and ask if she can redo the section.. Or anyone who does nice weaves.. you dont want those edges to be gone!

Can you go back to the stylist who put your tracks in to take out that portion and redo it a little loosen? If you can't then either take that area yourself or find someone who can loosen that area for you. It's very important to do this as soon as you can, because if you don't you will get a hair bump that can turn into a bald spot. I use to get those things all the time when I use to get micro braids and it's a pain to deal with.

How long have you had the install?

If it's been longer than a week & you're still in pain like this, then I say remove them.

That's really tight. I don't know what loosens it. I hope some other ladies chime in. Hang in there!

Aaw Sweetie, I know You don't want to hear this, but I must say, it looks as though there is too much tension on Your edge thier. I had braids that tight before and struggled thru it till it loosened up, but when I took them out it was a bald spot in that area. Of course it will eventually loosen up, but it may compromise Your Hair. Just food for thought! Wish You the Best!

I can't really tell the technique that she used... but I can see the string.... I wonder if it's possible for you to cut the string without it loosening all the way...

You really need some relief there soon!!!!!!

Call her.

Thanks for the fast responses.

the front looks really tight in that section- you could take some aleve
I tried that too.

I got it done on Saturday. I did it back home in the islands & I'm back in Miami now so I cant go to my stylist. I think I mite just have to try & take it out myself cause it is unbearable.

Loosing my edges is just not worth it.......

I can massage it but it really doesnt help

You have to take that down, it's way too tight. I braid hair and i know that has to be really painful for you. She should have known when she was braiding that that was too tight.

You need to get that part redone asap, that's gonna mess up your edges :nono:

if you want to get one part redone you'll probaby end up having to get the whole thing redone almost..depending on the how its braided...

Its not that easy.....

I was a little too late :cry3: some of my hair came out from the root......
I'm trying to be optimistic but I guess this is another set back:wallbash:
I checked & that's the only spot that was being pulled on

Sorry to hear that. I had an install done back in Novemeber and only kept it in for a week because it was too tight.

awww.. i'm so sorry to hear that...
how much did you pay to have it done?

I'm sure its not a lot of hair that you lost. You probably wont even notice once you take it down.

if your going to take it down. go ahead and cut the tracks loose at the front first where the the pain is maybe that will give you some relief and see if you can loosen it up a little. then maybe you can sew it back in loosely...idk.

Sorry you cant enjoy your hair. Hope you didnt waste a lot of money.

Suggestion, I know You don't want to waste the money You've spent, Why don't You try and snip the actual thread thats right thier, in that spot, because most likely its the thread thats pulling it too tight not the actual braid, so snip it, and pull some out till you get enough to tie it back together which will keep it form coming out all together, I've had to do that once too. HTH!

This is what I was coming in to say. Just snip the thread right there because yes that looks way too tight, redness and bumps forming from where your hair is pulling from the roots.

I love the idea of weaves but this is just why I can't do them both times I tried it was unbearable. The tightness, itchiness no way.

Thanks, at least the pain is gone! It's not that noticeable...I'll get it done over as soon as i can. Nope, it didnt cost a lot thank goodness.

Thanks. That's what I did, I loosened that spot. This will be my last year of wearing weaves if all goes well... I'm gonna look into getting a lace front.

yeah... coming from an avid weaver, that's not a good look right there. Call your stylist and discuss fixing that, especially if you paid for it. Your skin is stretched badly in that area and it' shouldn't be. She should have left some stray hairs (that she braided in) out. I jumped back when I saw those pics you posted.

I agree with a lot of the posters on here with their suggestions. Don't wait 'til it's too late or feel bad that you have to contact your stylist about it.

I noticed the stray hairs as well. I cant go back to her because I did it overseas but I loosened it up myself. I cant get the entire thing taken down right now.

I've had this happen before. What worked for me was getting in the shower and saturating my entire head with water. Shampoo your hair and the weave really good. Put putting some really thick conditioner in a water bater bottle with water and spray all into the braids(saturate them completely) Leave it in for about 30 minutes and start massaging the braids to losen them a bit. Keep doing that until you feel some relief and let the braid underneath airdry. Don't manually dry them.

Sometimes it's not that the braids are too tight; it is that she sewed the hair in too tight(really pulled on the thread) which pulled on the braids.

If no relief after this, take the install down.

^^i agree with the above-i once had a weave that felt really tight, and after my first shampoo my natural hair kind of loosened up a little bit.
castor oil is also very soothing, so if the area still feels loose, it might help to rub a bit on it.
good luck, honey...your sew-ins are always, fab, by the way!
