Hair Coach
Through the years my daughter's hair has seen many changes. Her hair has been constantly cut and colored as Mommy always has to have someone to experiment on. I just wanted to take you through her journey.

At one point and time I was extremely scissor happy with her hair keeping it purposely at shoulder length because I could and she finally put her foot down one day and told me that she wanted it to grow longer. So about 18 months later and about 20 months into her transition(once again) It is getting close to BSL. She's so happy!

Check out the pics below.

I transitioned her for 13 months and then decided to do the big chop, with her permission of course.

She went from this....

I got tired of dealing with the natural texture and decided to relax again about 18 months later. Her hair had grown a lot. Just relaxed.

She wore her hair relaxed for a while then I started experimenting again. This time I cut it.

So cutting it wasn't enough. It had grown out some more and I decided I wanted to do a little color.

She wore this color for quite some time and one day she decided to go a little lighter. She was already transitioning so of course I agreed! We decided to a golden blonde on her hair but it couldn't be done without a little bleaching. So over the course of a few days she went from reddish brown to golden blonde and BKT'ed and a mini cut.

She is now about 20 months into her second transition and her hair is healthier than ever and she's headed toward reaching her second goal of BSL. We colored her hair back to her dark brown. This is her hair now.

I am going to let her hair be for now. No cutting, no coloring or BKT'ing.

I just wanted to share her many stages. Whew, it didn't seem like a lot when we were doing it. She's such a trooper. :yep:

my 13 y/o is transitioning and i'm not use to dealing with her natural hair. We are struggling but she's up for the challenge. She wants dreads.

My 14 yr old and I are going through this. she has so much hair though that I take her to the shop to get it done once or twice a month, then I wash and take care of it in between. *sigh* She's just not completely ready to take care of it herself, but I'm trying to teach her. Good Luck to you

ETA: OP, your daughter has beautiful hair.

I'll have to wait untill I get home to see the pics, but I'm sure your DDs hair looks lovely! It just good to know that you can do so much to hair and with the proper techniques you can still achieve great lengths :yep: Congrats to your DD for reaching BSL. I hope to make it this year :drunk:

THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!! She tries and it comes out not cute when she's making puffs and ponytails. I have decided to start taking her to the shop at least once a month. The hair has to be 4z and it's APL and I can't find any products to make it do what I want it to do. :wallbash:

Thanks!! She's not quite BSL yet. She has about 2 inches to go!! Not too much longer.

Awwww man ... her hair looks great! She's lucky to have a great stylist as a mom.
