I have yet another question

I know this is like my second question of the week...I apologize for my lack of knowledge . I found split ends on some shed hair last night and decided to go somewhere and get a trim. Should I blow dry my hair out so they can work with it better or should I ask them to trim my hair wet? I just don't want them cutting off a whole bunch of my progress...plus I feel like no one will know how to work with my natural hair.

I think for natural hair it's best to get your hair trimmed straightened unless you're trimming your natural hair into a style. How much are you getting cut off?

Hmm, if you don't want your progress trimmed off, maybe you should consider trimming your hair yourself?

I've heard of Naturals trimming off the tip of their twists, or straightening then trimming. Hopefully there are more tips to come, once they see this thread.

Whichever method you decide to use, make sure you protect your hair from the heat first, because you don't want to end up with even more splits that you started with.

Here are some threads on self-trimming:

Be careful. You don't want to go to a salon you are unfamiliar with and ask for a trim. They may just give you a cut...
Can any of your female family members do it?

I might ask my sister. She usually cuts her own hair I just thought there was some special method or something that only hair stylists knew lol.

The threads really helped out though and I think I'm just going to twist it up and let her snip the ends off.

If you go to a stylist, you should probably straighten it unless you go to a stylist who's familiar with natural hair. I think you should do it yourself if you wear it curly or twisted most of the time. Just trim the splits.
