YARN BRAIDS!!! Yea I am so proud of myself!!!

Shout out to Black Onyxx on YouTube who is also a member of this board. You are my favorite YouTube natural! I love her style and the way she wears her hair. Very creative with the hair accessories and jewelry.


Anyways back to my braids....yea it took 12 freaking hours to do them. I got a little sloppy towards the front which sucks, cause it's the front, but oh well. Overall I am proud of myself for finishing and they don't look half bad. Now I don't have to fool with my hair for awhile. It was shedding and rebelling against me for awhile and I was wanting to cut so bad. So I am glad I found something simple to do.

People kept telling me that I would look good with locs. Which actually kinda made me mad cause I'm like "whatchu TRYNA say?!?":grin: But actually I might loc in the future. I think I would look good with locs. But I like having my hair loose for now. I ran across her video and fell in love with these braids. So here's some pics. They were taken with my cam phone so they are kinda grainy but I can take some better ones if it's too bad. I know I hate when people put up grainy hair pics so let me know if it's too grainy.


I kinda left my edges out cause they are real fragile and I want to moisturize them daily

I will come back and figure out how to resize the pics. I just wanted to make my post before I ran out real fast.

looks great! and I like how you styled them!

I loe yarn braids too as protective styling! they are so easy to do and keep protects your hair.. when take them off my hair feels so soft

Thanks! She did some style tutorials too on how to style them and they are all very pretty. I was kinda scared of the take down. I hope my hair is soft. I plan to wear them up 90% of the time as far as stepping out of the house, but WHOO that is too much tension for my tender head so I have to take them down sometimes too.
 
Cute! I did some last month and I'm about to redo them tonight. I love blackonyxx, I used the same tutorial too. and your updo is pretty!

Yarn braids are a cheap and effective protective style (yarn is about $3 a roll, I used a roll and a half and almost everyone can braid) I just hate parting my hair.
 
Yours are so pretty! I like yarn braid..but they take forever to put in and forever to take out...expecially to take out!!! I did them to my hair before but I never finished.. let me find a picture of mines..:)
How long did It take you? Did You just braid yours down? thats how I did mines..I know a lot of people who do them another way..I dont know how..
 
I've never been a fan of dreads really, but your braids are really beautiful on you. hmmmm, I may have to look into these myself. A job well done!
 
Those are too cute!! I like how they can have a sexy feeling to them when you put them in an updo! I want some now...lol...all the ones I've seen around here (STL) are entirely too big and bulky. I saw one chick with blonde ones and red ends...her head looked like a box of matches, hot mess. :lachen:
