I just realized that it contained alcohol. Anyone experienced any problems with it? Or, should I just take it back?

I actually love it. I use it very sparingly and try to get a fine and even mist. You could always return it after using once if you don't like it. ;)

I discovered Chi Silk Infusion when I went to buy Chi Iron Guard at Trade Secret. The saleslady suggested I get CSI - she said people always bring the iron guard back because it makes their hair sticky. I've never used it.

Maybe you should try it on a small piece of your hair and see how it reacts. If you don't like it, you can take it back....

+1

made my hair sticky... but i love the chi silk infusium :D

I have a bottle, i used every week when i was relaxed, i never had a problem with it... i also used some products to curl my hair that have alcohol in it and worked fine for me... now that i'm natural, i can not longer use them .. my hair hates them. I haven't try the Chi with natural hair though.

I love the iron guard and the silk infusion. The key is not to LOAD it on which is what alot of people do. If you do a light misting or a smaller dollop you'll be fine. :yep:

LOLOLOL b/c in the thread i started earlier i used that stuff and it is sticky. i'm not sure how i like it since my hair won't revert back but i loved the results the chi silk infusion plus the chi iron guard gave me.

my suggestion to others, skip it. i don't think it is worth the risk plus it is really expensive. i didn't even look @ the ingredients when i bought it. but it did not dry my hair out.

But I thought chi silk infusion wasn't a heat protectant.

I think the Op is referring to Chi 44 Iron Guard which is a heat protectant.

I know, I have it...but some people are saying that they just use the chi silk infusion, but I thought the chi silk infusion wasn't a heat protectant while the iron guard is??

I love it! will be going back 4 more. I use Iron gaurd B4 I blow dry or airdry and then use Chi silk infusion to flat iron. it leaves my hair light and bouncy.

So far it has worked well for me. I don't spray a lot on my hair and I use it a long with the keratin mist and straight guard.

I bought that and the chi silk infusion about 6 months ago. I used the Iron Guard once. I don't remember why I didn't like it (I think that it made my hair dry even with a light mist), but I never used it again. However, I love the silk infusion!

What is the name of the alcohol? Is it a fatty alcohol? Fatty alcohols are as emulsifiers, emollients and/or thickiners and do not have the same properties as other types of alcohols.

My hair hates it...I don't use a lot...just a mist...
it was hard once flat ironed and oddly sticky after spraying...
