Re: Weave is out, & I kinda miss my bob :-(

Have you ever done a full head weave w/o the bang area out? btw, you have very pretty hair!

Nichi your hair looks AWESOME! Praying that the heat damage is minimal.

Re: Weave is out, & I kinda miss my bob :-(

ETA: There was very VERY minimal heat damage. It's not bad at all, really.

No I have never had a sew-in without a portion of the bang area out, and I never will. I leave ALL my edges out because I've noticed some people that do have thinned out edges from the braiding. I also think a full head tends to look wiggy, at least it will on me. I wanted it to look more natural.

Hey Nichi do you use a particular brand of hair and/or type?

Yes, I have gotten an install twice and I used the same brand recommended to me by my cousin, and I'll likely stick to that unless something else cheaper and matches better with my straightened texture comes out, lol. It's this brand, Goddess Remi

I'm back for another update on this thread. I fully detangled today and totally drenched my hair in coconut oil. I deep conditoned with Moroccan Oil Intensive Hair mask and Lustrasilk Shea Butter Cholesterol. I smoothed it all out to the ends after I separated in 4 to wash. Here is a pic of part of my nape area:

I know that looks like heat damaged straight hair but its not, its hair i used oil to stretch out

I decided to do a twistout with my shea butter moisturizer mix and castor oil for the ends. I guess I'll wear this for the rest of the week as I've gotten lazy after sew ins. Here's the side and back

Very nice!!!!! Did you mix the two deep conditioners?

Re: Weave is out, & I kinda miss my bob :-(

Thanks, but I just posted some new pics of the hair after detangling. The first set is NOT my texture, but crinkles from the braiding for the tracks

I just peeped those pictures. Regardless, your hair looks great. :yep:

Yes Amazing, I never use ONE DC, I don't know why. I ALWAYS mix two different brands or I don't feel right. lol. I only like to use thick, heavy stuff on my hair, so I cant help it. I first though, completely saturated my hair roots to ends in coconut oil. I did use the Moroccan Oil first then went over it with the Lustrasilk and washed out after like 20 minutes of letting it sit.

change your siggy
your not apl anymore
you look bsl or even longer

Wow, you think? I haven't even measured seriously. I just parted out a bit of my nape ( as you can see, the elongated piece was a small portion of one of the quarters) I hardly think I'm BSL, it couldn't have been this quick, right? I'm going to assume I'm somewhere past APL until I straighten. I think I need a trim though.

Can you give the details on how you did your twistout?

Sure. Make sure your hair is wet and moisturized. I parted out my usual part line for bangs. I dont part anymore, I just pick a section and flat twisted to my scalp all the way to the ends. I then add a touch of castor oil to the ends and set on perm rods. I started a thread a little over a year ago about how it looks when done. Sort of like cornrows. Here's the thread with pics. My twistouts look different now, and they fall towards my shoulder as opposed to sort of fro-ey like. It's okay I guess, but the pics are pretty much how it looks before I let it air dry or sit under the dryer (depending on how much time i have). It's really easy and lasts a few days. Can be dressed up and in the pic, I pinned it up with a bobby pin.

This is another great tut i used before and get the same results:

Hope this helps!
