lol yes I am now actually! But I want to get my hair longer in the front and sides first. I'm tryinnnnnnng to be patient for once, I usually just DO and that has been my problem with my hair too in the past, (example perming and coloring in the same day because I wanted both looks at once) lol :lachen:
 
Thanks for the review! I've been eyeing this for a while but i think i may get the Professional instead of the Elite, just wanted to add though that the Runway has been having some issues recently that people have been complaining about, like the plates changing color and stuff, the problems seem to have started when they changed manufacturers and they seem to have stopped making them entirely until they sort some stuff out! So i'd say opt for the Hana, at least until the Runway gets sorted out.

hmmm......interesting since this wasn't on stretched hair. unfortch...my wallet can't stretch that much.

I know it will be perfect to relaxed hair though! If you ever get the chance, it's worth it since it doesn't ware off over time!

lol yeah! it's worth it. especially since it doesn't ware off or anything like that! some people don't see it that way.

but i know huh, my hair is so friggin thick. i appreciate it, but sometimes i'm like DANG!
 
bumping for other 4a's with flat ironing issues! today i'm doing my hair the proper way. Cleaned, Deep Conditioned, And I am going to blow dry it straight (just to see if I get better results even though I got good ones doing it with product etc on it for those pics )
 
I think that I am a combination of 3c/4a as well and I am super excited about this iron. After reading the reviews and going through this thread, I'm sold!!! Thanks, OP. Currently, I'm doing the bunning challenge for 2010, but I am still going to order it for the future.
 
Ugh...I am trying to decide between getting the Hana Elite and the FHI (newer version of the Runway)...But your hair is...WOW!!!

How did it turn out? I bought the FHI but have been wearing extensions and not able to use it yet, have not been impressed wheni tried it out on my sister but we r hard core 4b, so i dunno if thats the reason

I posted pictures on the first page I believe. The hana was/is amazing. I have jus been too lazy to EVER do my entire head the proper way while natural. And now I'm transitioning BACK to natural (Long story lol) so it would not be good to do a flat iron job on my hair because it would not be fair judgment.

BUT the hana is awesome, it leaves your hair feeling SOFT and shiny. Light and it moves. :lick:

The CHI for ME personally was just not hittin the spot. I know some ppl have good results w/it, but I think my hair type being the coarse, thick, dense, 4a/4b hair it is... it needed something that would do the job. lol

KrystalClear, did you ever do your whole head with this iron. Are pics posted somewhere?
 
I got my hana elite iron last week and I do think its a good iron.

I have 4b hair, serious nip nappy 4b hair. My hair did not get as straight as I would have like though, but I think thats bc I didn't do a good job blow drying and also don't think my conditioner worked that well.

I can tell you that it did a MUCH better job straightening than the previous irons I've had over the years, which are the following:

Jilibre (Sallys)
Sedu
Solia
Chi
Hai


Also I am 6 1/2 months post and I think a skinny iron would be better to really get to my roots. I have not seen where they have this in a smaller size tho:sad:. I go to a salon that only does natural hair and they use a skinny FHI platform on my roots and it gets very straight.
