with this transitioning hair?! once if i'm feeling good about it. its too much to handle beyond that, but since i added oil to my dc, i may be able to wash more often without feeling like shaving my head.

I shampoo once a wk. I started co-washing twice a wk and shampooing once and I started shedding like crazy. :nono: Maybe I needed more protein when I was doing this. (?)

When I am not in extension braids, I'd say once sometimes twice a week, but when the braids are in, I'd say about once every 2-3 weeks. I know I know, I should wash more, but my braids end up looking crappy by the 3rd week and I have to take them down by week 5 and that is not long enough for the money I spend to get them done.

Value for money wins when I have extension braids installed. Sorry:blush:.

Co-wash? Does that mean wash with conditioner and no shampoo? I do that when I need a touch up. Forgive my ignorance. I'm a newby on here.

Currently I only wash once a week. If I had the time it would be more. The good thing is this is more than what I was doing in high school. I was always told that I should't wash my hair that often because it dries it out. I even had someone tell me that dirty hair grows better and faster. You wanna know their justification? PLANTS! They said that plants grow so well because they're in dirt so hair can do the same thing. Needless to say after I picked my jaw up off the ground in disbelief I just left that convo alone!

Co-wash 2-3x/wk, DC 1x/wk. No shampoo EVER. Sometimes I just rinse my hair for 15 minutes or so with no product. That gets it really clean.

My hair doesn't like infrequent washing. It feels and looks terrible after about 48 hours or so.

Ask them if they go through photosynthesis?

I used to wash my hair every day or every other day. Then I thought about it. I may be washing the good things out of my hair. Your scalp produces what it needs to thrive and grow sometimes by its self, if you give it enough time. So, now I try to wash only once a week. I will make a day out of it.
