Thanks, the growth is insane and it worries me a bit. Like, it seems a bit abnormal and maybe something's wrong?? Or maybe not, I'm not sure. Almost makes me feel like I should stop taking my supplements once I reach my desired length. I honestly don't want it to get TOO long..like past tailbone! Too much for me :spinning:

It could be your natural growth rate now that your body is getting what it needs. How many inches would you say you were getting every 2 weeks?

THATS what i need to restart!!! Fish Oil!! i was taking these in capsule form last year and i was getting great growth!!

Thanx Ivey!! I will be at VS (Vitamin Shoppe...not Victorias Secret :lachen:)....this coming Thursday!!!

Ivey you got great growth in that time period but I don't think it was more than normal. It's hard to tell how much growth you really had because in the first 2 pics you weren't pulling the hair down and in the last one you were...that does make a difference in how long your hair appears.

I think from this point forward you should do all the pics with you pulling your hair to stretch it. That way it'll be a better comparison.

Ahhm, not sure about that. If you're allergic, then I wouldn't take any chances? I would think you need to do more research about that. I'm not a doc or anything so I say use with caution? :perplexed

UPDATE: Here is what I found from the following site: http://www.healthy-oil-planet.com/allergy-fish-oil.html

"What about Allergies to Fish Oils?

If you're allergic to fish, you might have an allergy to fish oil. This will depend on how your
fish oil was processed. High quality, pharmaceutical-grade fish oils are generally free of
allergy-causing proteins due to their highly specialized processing. You can also use
alternate sources of omega 3's found in foods, such as flaxseed oil."

Thank you! I did used to take flax with Omega 3 and 6, but didn't take it long enough to see any real differences. But thank you for this information!

Just wanted to update that my oil is on it's way. Any updates ladies? Do I smell a fish oil challenge?

I agree we need a FOC :look: (Fish Oil Challenge), not just for growth, but overall health . I started Friday, Sept 25th right after Ivey's post and am documenting my growth on the days like she did. Sooooooooooooo we'll see.

I can't see the pics :(

Fotki does that sometimes, it changes the hot link. You have to click 'share this photo' then 'hotlink this image' and copy the 'direct link to the photo' so you get a permanent link.

Unless everyone else can see the pic, in which case it is just me and you can ignore everything I just said:lol:

This pics are still up :yep:

Carlson's - The very finest fish oils has anchovies and sardies (i.e. small fish) the rationale behind this is that because they are small fish they are lower down in the food chain and therefore less likely to accumulate heavy metals i.e. Mercury found in larger fish (hence why I alternate this one with the cod liver oil which can have this problem).

The Cod liver oil IMHO is prob one of the best sources of fish oil (although has lesser values of EPA/ DHA) and is more susceptible to heavy metals. However Look for Arctic, Nordic and Icelandic producers and you should be ok. Cod Liver Oil also has naturally occuring Vits A, D & E and ALA which are not found in other fish oils. This is prob why it kept me sooooooo darn healthy as a child in Africa. I kid you not I never had to go to the doctor. Its only recently that I have been revisiting the wisdom of my Granny and the way she used to look after me.

Medical professionals always agree that this is prob the single most impt supp.

HTH's

The bolded text is soooo true!! My grandmother made sure we took our cod liver capsules EVERY morning growing up. It was disgusting and I hated the "fish burps" as another poster stated it. I had it worse, because I couldn't swallow pills so my grandmother had to puncture them and squeeze it in a spoon. Sometimes she'd make me chew the capsule while I drank OJ. Because we hated taking them she used to put them in our OJ. I think all of that scarred me.:nono: But fortunately I grew up and can now swallow pills!! :) :spinning:

So, on Sept. 1st, I did a length check, and I thought, cool, it's growing. Then, Sept. 11th (flat-iron day), I took another pic. I was like, wow, ok then...THEN, just moments ago today, I took yet another pic. I was like, WHOA! My hair seems to be growing pretty fast!! I always wondered how my hair seemed to retain length even after getting a trim every month...

It was only recently, that I decided not to trim my hair (only S&D) for the past two months to see my natural growth progress. I initially planned on checking every first of the month thereafter, but you know how it is when you're trying to reach a goal (OCD :lachen:). Well, I took some pics for just this month and was amazed at how much it's grown! I should be happy, but I'm pretty scared! Is this normal growth?? It seems to grow a bit longer than half an inch? I've never tracked my growth before, so, to me this is a surprise. The only thing I remember doing differently was adding fish oil to my diet July 29th. I then added MSM/Super B-Complex Aug. 30th. Could it be the supplements combined or what??

Sept. 1 (And yes, I wear my bra too low, only this particular bra though )

Ivey, will you be adding the pictures back?

WOOOW, I'm so sorry guys. I'm a dumba**. :lachen:

Someone previously expressed that my pics didn't appear consistent as far as how the comparison was made. I deleted the September album that had the pics, to create another one for the month of October to try again. And I TOTALLY forgot that I had them linked for this thread. I get confused because I use photobucket too....I'll try to search for the pics and post it again. Or you can just wait until the end of October to see the new and "better compared" pics?

Ivey, your hair was straightened in those photo's was it not? I saw the growth. Are you thinking that you had no significant growth? No one had any problems with those pictures except one person. I and many other people who congratulated you had no problems with those pictures. Notice all the thank you's? I say keep those photo's then add the others later. I'm looking forward to Octobers progress report.

i think some earlier posts have talked about MN, Sulphur, and other growth aids having a similar attribute, they are anti-fungal in nature. i saw a couple of weeks ago a non clinical at-home test done comparing the effects of certain things on fungal growth and this "study" showed that fish oil literally obliterated fungus. the petrie dish was completely clear of fungus. this is good because many illnesses have their root cause with fungal overgrowth. i have been meaning to buy some for health, but here's another reason and reminder. thanx!!

also, put the pics back up. there's always going to be a negative in the bunch. it doesn't seem like the majority of people thought you were lying. i want to see the comparisons.
