Hi ladies,

Last week I posted in Sylver's long term stretch about being 21 weeks and everything was going well with me.....

Oh how times change in such a short period. First off I have to say that my hair is not the problem.:violin: I'm not going to use my hair as a scapegoat but take resposibily for my own actions. I'm lazy ya'll. I can't do it anymore and part of me wants to texlax and the other is against failing. :crying3: I've come so far and only have a few more weeks to go until Oct 15. I'm tired of standing in the mirror and separating and co-washing and detangling. I feel like i'm hitting a wall,:wallbash: I miss the ability to wear my hair down. I haven't seen it in it's glory for so long. :cry4: The same ol' buns and protective styles are soooo old and boring. I know this is healtheir for my hair, but man this is hard. I need to do a co-wash but I have no motivation, lol. I know this sounds crazy, but I need some support :attention:

I am not sure if you are a fan of extensions and weaves, but when I get impatient with my stretch, I like to hide it under braids. It helps take the edge of when I don't have to see or deal with my real hair every day. I know how you feel though ...I am 24 weeks post and bouncing off the walls.

Like you said, it's only a few weeks away!!! Braidouts and twistouts are an option to enjoy your hair :-)

What she said! Twistouts are a realy fun way to enjoy your hair without a lot of manipulation and with no heat. They're not exactly a "protective" style per se (because your ends are exposed) but I think its a great compromise, and a better alternative than caving in when you've come so far.

You'll get there, just take it one step at a time! October will be here bofre you know it :)

You can do it. Think of how far you've made it already. I'll be 21 weeks on Saturday and my plan is to relax on October 17th...I know for some people from now til then is the length of time they'd go between relaxing, but we'll have over four 6-week stretches. You're in the final stretch. Can't wait to see your results. I'm bunning daily, and trying not to think about it...I've jazzed it up w/ a fake hair scrunchy (mostly to cover my nape), and have been focusing on wearing nice clothes and accessories daily. Think I'll buy some more bun accessories this weekend.

Yeah, I hit a wall for sure yesterday. I need to start considering other options aside from the protective styling. One thing I know for sure is I started hiding my hair to early in the stretch process. I should have continued styling my hair up to 4 months then it wouldn't have been so bad. I started doing protective styling at 8 weeks when me new growth was still okay to manipulate. I'm learning my lesson.

Yeah your right, I need to go shopping for accessories. Shopping always helps and something to jazz it up a bit. I'll do a mini make-over to stop myself from going crazy LOL

Maybe do a rod set or something that camouflages the NG and keeps it off your shoulder. Or instead of exclusively buns do some updos

Here are a couple I did but you could look through transitioners fotkis for ideas
I wasn't transitioning here but it was still protective styling. It's a rod set and stayed off my shoulders

And this one is an updo on a failed braidout. I was about 7 months post I believe

And you could jazz up your buns with hair candy (headbands, etc)
Didn't Foxyroxy(sp?) start a hair candy challenge last year?

I totally agree. I need my braids and wigs to keep my hands out of my hair as well. I will be exactly 33 weeks post tomorrow and still doing pretty good with it:yep:.
