She is dating the Ed Westwick. He plays Chuck Bass on the show. Ed is British but is really good at his American accent on the show, for anybody that watches the show.

I didn't know that there was a multi-ethnic person on that show, I stopped watching after the first season. Is this how she wears it though? With bad extensions and half-way frizzed? She should (IMO) stop fighting it if this is the result.

She is playing a character, she probably has wigs for her hair, at least it her own, how many 'black women' are wearing weaves and the weaves are taking are taking their mortgage interest.

She usually only wears it straight when she's out and about--there are tons of candid pics of her on different celebrity/gossip blogs. Unfortunately, her hair pretty much looks a little messy because of the frizz from her real hair clashing with the silky extensions. I just assume she wears it like that (with the extensions) because she HAS too for the show. Probably would be too much work putting them in, taking them out, putting them back in, etc.

She never looked quite "white" (nor part black either) on the show to me. Very interesting to know she is half AA and half Euro. I love her curly hair and she looks better when wearing it in it's natural texture.

I totally agree. I had no idea he was British until he did an interview outside of the show. The same goes with Idris Elba (in my opinion).

Well... she does claim Hungarian as her ethnicity. She is also supposedly 1/4 black so maybe she just identifies more with her Hungarian bkgrd?

ITA about Ed Westwick- I love him! He is to me the best actor on that show- by far. I love Chuck Bass! LOL

I just needed to jump back in here and say 'what the heck is up with her hair this season?' - so far it looks kinda messy. not sleek and straight, not rollerset, not the beautiful curls we see in the pics in this thread. it looks like a sad attempt at messy dreads or smthg. idk - am i the only one that noticed this on the last two episodes? Then again, Blake Livelys characters hair is pretty messy too - so maybe they got a new hair dresser or its just the theme on the show this season - lol.

I'd just like to point out that there are several people who think she looks white with straight hair. Which just goes to show that hair type does influence what race (mixture) people think you are. You know, just a reminder so it's not as shocking an idea when other hair type threads come up.

It'd be funny if on the episode where it is "revealed" that her mother is black (on the show), suddenly she'll be wearing her hair in its natural state.

That's true! In the 1st epi she joked about her 'farmer's tan!' I couldn't believe they did that so I have no idea where they're going with this. Serena seems messy to me most of the time but Vanessa's hair is def more messy this season.
