Steaming seems like an awesome moisturizing treatment. but i wonder if one could get the same results by spraying the hair with some water, putting a conditioning cap on, and sitting under the dryer for a spell.

any thoughts?

In that case, everytime you put a plastic cap on your head and applied heat to it, you'd be doing a "steam" treatment.

Hmmm....

Makes me ask myself why steaming would be such a big improvement over wet hair under a cap, under a dryer or heating cap. :scratchch

I have a heat cap, a hooded dryer, and a steamer. By far the steamer is better. First of all you don't wear a plastic cap under the steamer. So you are not trapping the steam in. Secondly I just can not articulate clearly the amount of absorption of the product. It amazes me. Best investment ever. It's one of those things where you won't know until you know.

Lucky'smom has a good plastic baggy technique to use in conjunction with a hooded dryer that creates a steam effect.
