You are an inspiration. Congrats on your BC!!! I cosign with the ladies on going slow and keeping your moisture up. You will learn so much and we are all here to support each other.

Can't help you with the wig thing...Hope others will chime in.

PS. The braiding and weave comments.:lachen::lachen::lachen:

Congrats on the Big Chop Lady!!! a resounding yes you may stay....WELCOME! I can't wait to see your hair in a couple of months as well.....are you planning on staying natural or relaxing once you get to a certain length? (sorry 4 all the ?s just really excited for u) :)

Congrats Missy!!!!
Keep Us updated on your progress!

BTW.
I have to say we have the same color eyes, some pictures they dont show others they are like BAM !

Congrats on your BC! Sometimes you just have to start from scratch. I, too, shaved all of my hair off in May. This is a great opportunity for you to learn what your hair likes or dislikes. There's lots of great information here so you'll be fine. Additionally, littlegoldenlamb's gives great product reviews and hair care tips on her website.

Gurl stop playin'. Of course you can stay. Please make sure to enjoy your time with the fade and TWA...is DOESN'T LAST LONG! It will seem like it takes a while to get to SL and FOREVER to get to APL. But the time with the TWA doesn't last long and the akward stage sucks. Stay positive, MAKE USE OF THE SEARCH FEATURE and ask questions.

Welcome and HHG!

...Of course I can't wear a wig 'cuz....Heeeeeeyyyy, wait a minute....???

Yes, I've GOT IT! In between, moisturizing and rocking my little spriglets, I could wear a wig. Or do my spriggies need to breathe?

Good Idea/Bad Idea?

Any MORE Ideas?

Great idea! When you are at home just take that wig off and let your hair and scalp breath. Otherwise, when you are wearing a wig keep your hair protected with some type of wig cap and keep your hair well-conditioned and moisturized.

You are one brave lady! Can't wait to see your updates.

Congrats! You are too brave! I hope you stay natural it seems like that may be best for you since relaxed didn't go to well. Either way HHG AND WELCOME!

Hello & Welcome.

What an exciting chop. Its going to be great watching your progress. I hope you'll keep an online album so that we can see your growth and support you.

You have a great head and face shape for that fade!
I say scalp massages moisturizing shampoo (but not all the time)
And moisture (co washes and butters)

There is the possibility that you just have slow growing hair. Some people do. My husband is one of them. But starting from scratch like this will surely let you monitor exactly how fast or slow it grows.

Find a good multi vitamin if you don't have one already.
Focus on moisture and not proteins get your protein internally through foods.
I am also a type 4 and I found that silk protein is best for my hair. I have to avoid hard protein and animal protein.

Please keep us informed.

Congrats on ur BC!! U look amazing w a fade. I say keep everything simple and write down everything u try so u can see what ur hair likes or dislikes. Finding good vitamins and eating a well rounded diet will help too. Also I find that when I do some type of physical activity my hair flourishes. Good luck to u sister an I hope u stay natural and around

:welcome: to the forum. Congratulation’s on your BC:clapping:. Thanks for the lovely pictures. I wish you a fantastic and successful journey, can’t wait to see your updates.

Giiiiirl welcome you and your cut are fierce just keep it simple for the time being and dotn buy too many products til your hair grows out and you can figure out what it likes, I would co wash and do scalp massages

Welcome! OFCOURSE you can stay!!!! You're a wonderful writer and I look forward to sharing your hair journey!

Firstly, Wow! Congrats on the BC and welcome to LHCF! I'm glad you came out of lurkdom to post this - many people don't have the courage to BC down to 2" and even less have the guts to shave their hair off completely! So kudos to you. :D

I don't really have any tips except keep your hair moisturised and don't go back into lurkdom after this . Also, I love love love Zahira's fotki. She started with even less hair than you (completely bald) and within a year she had really great growth. You should check it out for inspiration.

WOW!!! Welcome lady! Mad Probs for what you did, choppin all ur hair off like that!! Ur a brave chica! I LOVE ur expression in the last pic! LOL Your hair is gonna be growin in no time!! Especially if you treat it the way it wants to be treated. I would agree with the others as far as Cowashing, moitsturizing the scalp and basically laying a baseline for a healthy scalp since ur gonna be growing into a twa!

Welcome!

I say, soak it in, and take it slooooooow. There is a ton of info on the board, and it can lead to bandwagon jumping and severe PJism which typically ends in near fatal broke-itis. :lachen: After a while you'll get a feel for what your hair wants/needs. It's always best to start with the basics and branch out from there. :yep:

Haha, I think I am on my way to ICU with that condition!!

But congrats to you OP! I love the look on your face it is so priceless. You were so brave and I too, look forward to seeing your progress. Keep us all posted both here and on your blog! HHG!

:hiya:WELCOME! Congrats On Your BC & HHG!

CONGRATS, on taking the first step!!

P.S. You're probably one of he few people in the world who can rock a shaved head and still look FIERCCCCCCEE!! LOL!

Welcome to the family :welcome: (that's how it feels, like one big happy family, lol)!!!

I'm a newbie too, and have found so many helpful tips from the lovely and empowered women of lhcf. In the month since I've started to take time and care with my hair I've noticed such a dramatic change with my hair, the better it gets, the more determained I am to maintain it. The ladies on this site are very supportive and are quick to offer their advice when you need it.

I think you are very brave to take the bc step:urock:, I'm looking forward to keeping up with your progress, good luck and God bless

I would like to get to shoulder lenght. That has been my goal for years, but I think I might actually MAKE IT this time.

ESPECIALLY with all the advice I've been getting. Thank you all so much. Keep the tricks and tips coming...I'll be massaging my noggin and researching the "co-wash" thing if you need me...
