I've used Pantene Extra Lisso ( Straight) marketed in Hispanic neighborhoods.....I found this one to be great.....gives slip and even when I'm 8 weeks and above it still works on my hair...

Not sure if they sell it all over though and I think they have the Sleek Look version which is basically the same

I didn't like the Relaxed and Natural though so I was disappointed for sure.....those commercials had me running to the stores:lachen: didn't work for me:nono:

i wish i had seen this thread before i spent that $50 on 2 jars of conditioner... you guys seem to mostly like the conditioners. i think i'll try the breakage defense one.

Pantene is one of my favorite product lines. I've been using it for years.

I hate the smell of it though. I can overlook it since it works that well.

I haven't used them in a while. I liked the relaxed and natural mask.

I heard that the shine you can get from it has to do with some kind of wax that over the long term locks out moisture. Anyone can confirm?
I don't know about wax but it's full of cones which can do the same thing. That can be easily prevented by clarifying frequently.

I bought some of their products last year because it seemed affordable! I voted that it was alright. The conditioner worked okay, but it didn't get my hair as soft as some others! I haven't tried their relaxed and natural though. They didn't carry it where I was living at the time. Suave does a much better job, IMO. :yep:
It's weird how different everyone's hair is. Suave is like putting water on my hair, lol.

I have been using Pantene since college - that's over 15 years. It works for me like no other line. It detangles well, makes it soft and gives it "swing." I found that other brands did not give me the effect I got from Pantene. I don't remember which line I used before Beautiful Lengths, but I have dabbled in the Relaxed and Naturals line. I noticed that it gave my hair a slightly heavier feel. So if I purchase R&N again, it will be to use when I am 7 weeks or more post relaxer. I have not tried the R&N Breakage Defense Mask, but I love the Pro-V Restoratives Replenishing Mask and the 5 Minute Strengthening Mask. I may start using more Pantene products since this brand works for me. Since joining LHCF, I have tried using other brand conditioners, two of which were nearly $15 each, but each time I returned to Pantene. What's the point in wasting money on more conditioners, only to return to what has proven to work for me? I'd rather spend the money on ingredients that enhance my products such as SAA, BTMS, and wheat protein. I love my Pantene!
That's how I feel. Recently I tried Aussie Moist because of all the rave's:nono:. No good. I wish I had just got Pantene. No matter what I always go back to it. I mostly just use their conditioners though.

Clarifying shampoo leaves my hair stripped but I see it as a necesssary evil. The rest of the line that I've seen has too many cones...

I used the relaxed and natural deep conditioner and liked it. I used to buy their regular line back in the day. It was o.k to tell you the truth but I felt like I had to move to products that were created for ethnic hair (not sure if that was a great decision).

ive been using that r&n mask since last year and surprised at how moisturizing it was. i alternate it with ntm. i like it a lot.

I voted yes. I like the conditioner from their moisture renewal line. I use the conditioner often to cowash. I also use it mixed with my liquid leave-in as a way to hydrate my ends before PS or baggying. I tried the relaxed and natural products but did not like them. Of course that was pre-LHCF so it could've been me.

Well my grandma use to swear by Pantene. She would say that if you want your hair to grow use some Pantene. So I used the shampoo a long time ago before they even thought about expanding to their relaxed and natural line and it made my hair soft and shiny.
When they first introduced the relaxed and natural line I bought and used the entire line, the shampoo, conditioner, leave in / setting lotion, conditioning masque, and hair lotion. And I have to admit it did very well for my hair. My hair was always soft and I had very little breakage, just describing it makes me want to go back to that regimen again :lachen:

The best pantene realxed and natural producted was discontinued

I've used the R&N Breakage Defense Mask. My hair actually loved it but I am really trying to cut my pj stash down. My hair also really likes the Nature Fusion line condishes but again trying to cut down and use more natural products.

I used the R&N line when I was in vet school and my relaxed hair did really well with the products. I used both the Poo, condish, and the breakage defense condish and deep condish. I don't know if my hair could have done better with them if my techniques had been better. I only stopped using them because they weren't available in the larger sizes were I lived in Indiana and I found LHCF and learned so much about products, etc.

I am into natural/handmade products more, so I doubt I'll go back to it any time soon. If I buy cheapie condish its usually V05 or Aussie moist since I get more for my money. Can't say I'll never revisit the R&B line for the condish as a cowash (i'll have to check the ingredients first)

I didn't like pantene at all when I tried it a few years ago. I felt like it did nothing for my hair.

Pantene is one of my favorite product lines. I've been using it for years.

I did like the previous scent they used back in the day. I agree the new smell is just too much.

i never had a problem with them. in fact, i just found better products with better ingredients. that is all.

I used the Relaxed & Natural shampoo & conditioner exclusively for a while a few years ago. That was the year my hair didn't grow/retain any. :look:
