So I ordered the steamer from SalonsRUs. Fantastic! Hubby put it together - it's been sitting there all week, ready for me and my daughter to use it today on our hair night. So I put the water in the jug, turned it upside down and...

WATER. ALL. OVER. MY. FLOOR!!!!!!

So after experimenting to see if it was user error and having the same results, I called customer service and talked to Mark. He had me put some tape around my never-used brand-new water jug to see if I had a defective jug. Same result. So now they're sending me a new steamer.

I was sooooooooooooooo looking forward to this, but all I have is a wet floor and a busted steamer. :wallbash:

*sigh*

Sorry about that! But thank God they have great customer service and are sending you a new one! I want to buy a hair steamer soon. How much did you pay for it, if you don't mind me asking.

I just realized I fill the reservoir rather than the jug. I think I will fill the jug next time.

OMG, I have the same steamer and have the same issue with water leaking. I called them last night but got the voicemail. I found the source of the leak and did a "ghetto fix" so I could use it last night, but I didn't spend $130 to have to go through this everytime I get ready to use it.

Where is yours leaking from? There's a little black cap that cover a pipe type thing at the bottom of the main unit, mine has a hole in it and the water was dripping from there. I'm going to see if Home Depot has a replacement similar.

I have the same steamer and had not problems!

Mine ever leaks - even when I leave unsed water in the jug.

It did take me a while to tighten the screw in the stand so that it did not wobble - I did it myself with any tools.

Hair2Dye4, that's exactly where mine is coming out! But there isn't a hole, as far as I can tell - it's just overflowing the stopper some kind of way. I swear I thought something was wrong with me! It must be a common problem, because he was just like "okay...we'll send you another steamer." I thought then that they had to have heard this before, because who just sends more merchandise after a 2 minute converation?

Sounds like it since other people are experiencing the same thing. I hope your steamer works the way it's supposed to.

There shouldn't be this many problems with such an expensive piece of equipment.

Yes you are correct! you are suppose to fill the jug not the reservoir! You are not suppose to fill the reservoir directly!

I filled the jug, then put the black stem on. I tightened as much as possible, then upended it into the body of the steamer, in the resevoir. Flooding commenced. :drowning:

Interstingly, when I got on the phone with him initially, he asked me for my zipcode so he could see "which" steamer was sent. Hmmmm. I live in ATL - are the problem steamers going to the southeast U.S.?

ETA: I noticed Hair2Dye4 is also in ATL, and had the same problem. HMMMMM....
