Roux Porosity Control Cond. a staple???

I have one question about this though. I was confused about which type of Roux Porosity Control everyone uses and WHEN they use it so I only used the conditioner so far. I Did also buy the big bottle of the shampoo but I got the SMALL bottle of the conditioner (being cheap). :perplexed

Now that little bottle of conditioner is gone and I'm wondering if anybody uses the shampoo and gets great results as well?? I haven't busted open the shampoo yet but I will if you say it works just as good. I also wasn't sure if it was a cleansing poo so I left it alone.

If not, I guess I'll be heading back out to pay for the big bottle of the conditioner.

Bumping for a response to this good question. :yep:

I LOVE the PC shampoo!! Other than my chelating shampoo, the PC poo is the only shampoo I use. It has made a HUGE difference in the health of my hair. The most noticable difference is the increased moisture retention and the decreased number of split ends.

MStar...the PC conditioner was a MISS for me as well. Try the PC shampoo. It works great for my hair to maintain porosity, detangles, smoothes, moisturizes ect. This is pretty much the only shampoo I use now other than my chelating poo.
I looked up the ingredients of Porosity Control shampoo, and I see that it contains ammonium lauryl sulfate. :nono:

Is it drying at all? I know that ALS is supposed to be the harshest of the sulfates, and my hair is already really dry. Would you say that this feels like a moisturizing shampoo? TIA

I used it (shampoo) awhile ago, before I knew anything about these boards. I liked it. I still have some, but I stopped using shampoos with all those sulfates. So, mine is just sitting underneath the sink.

Yes...my hair is retaining moisture much better than before using PC shampoo. I'm not sure about the sulfates or where it falls on the scale of harshness....all I know is that my hair loves it

It cleans, detangles, and leaves my hair super smooth. Since using PC shampoo my conditioners seem to absorb better. After I apply my leave in conditioner I don't apply any other moisture to my hair until my next wash day, which is normally once per week. The only product I apply to my hair inbetween washes is a tiny tiny bit of Aveda serum on my ends. HTH!

Thanks for answering my question. I'm thinking of how I can't wait till this weekend to try the shampoo but I may sneak in an extra wash earlier now :auto:

The shampoo is most definitely a staple for me (for all the reasons you mentioned). I've been using it about 8 years (long before I went natural).

I was in a BSS store one day looking at conditioners when some lady down the aisle said I simply had to try Porosity Control b/c it worked wonderfully. So I took her at her word and decided to try the shampoo and conditioner. I am SO glad I did. :yep:

I've found that I like the shampoo more than the conditioner (though the conditioner works great I prefer something a little more creamy to slather on my hair).

bump... any other ladies having luck with this stuff? i hear a lot about it and i may try it friday.
Try it VJ, you just might like it too. It really helps your hair to hold on to moisture better. It even works well after a henna treatment on my hair.

i bought mine today. i can't wait to try it out.
I just got my ends trimmed today, and on the way home I got some of this. Put it on after a conditioner wash for about 1-2 minutes. After rinsing I used IC Leave In Moisturizer, followed by my shea butter mixture, and my hair is air drying and is mega soft! I know that part of it is because crunchy ends are gone, but I know PC has really contributed.

I bought the little bottle, in case I didn't like it. I'll be heading back to Sally's to get the big bottle after pay day!

i bought the little bottle too lol, i didn't wanna pay that money and end up disliking it. it didn't feel all that great while it was on my hair, but once i rinsed it out, my hair felt smoother and less tangly. i will try it a few more times i guess.

It took me about a Month using it Faithfully Each Week after Each DC Treatment, before I felt I had sufficiently dealt with my Overly Porous Hair.:yep: I've been using it now for about 6 months weekly and it has totally transformed My Dry, Brittle, Chemically Shocked, Overly Porous Hair.

You know it's Pretty Bad when I was told by a couple of stylist I knew and even the girls in Sally's Upon First Sight that my Hair was Overly Porous.
