1) do you ever have a problem with over conditioning your hair? my mom always rants about i'm going to mess my hair up and over condition it! we have similar hair (very similar) so i keep her advice in the back of my mind...
2)Not an option, but when i do clarify, i vow to dilute it with all my heart!
3) all the others seem like great idea, minus the pontail only b/c my hair wont get in onw without the help of heat and i'm challenging myself to no heat for like a year..
but it's glad to know that this problem may not be permanent...
I'm curious about why you can't stop shampooing...if you can't let it go I hope you are at least using a non sulfate poo. When I have to poo I still mix it with conditioner.
Because my hair was always so dry I knew that it would be hard to overcondition it. Has your Mom actually experienced this problem? You could easily tell if your hair was getting too much moisture and correct it before it became an issue. If it gets overconditioned easily than dry hair can't be your problem.
I prevent overmoisturization and keep my hair balanced by using products that have enough protein to help me keep my strength yet are moisturizing like the yogurt dc. Life is much easier this way.
My hair has to be wet or soaked with conditioner to get in a ponytail but I wear it up most of the time so it is already in position for a pony. Sleeping with loose hair cause my crown to become damaged.
Same issue my niece is having. her hair is damaged and it is extremely porous. so it soaks up the moisturizer and is still dry. Because the hair is damaged and porous, it cannot properly hold moisture. The balance of protein is off. so add protein to your hair diet...also ACV is good. Find other LCHFers that have hair similiar to yours, and try the same protein products that work for them. Mines are Aveda Damage Remedy, giovanni 50/50, and Vatika oil... but maybe try something hardcore.
