Girl Boo I am 24 and I don't think 27 is old. You're never to old as long as your hair is growing.

Oh my goodness! When I read this I was trying to guess your age, thinking you were like 60's or 70's or something

But 27 is in no way too old??? If that's the case I'm the Methusalem (sp) around here:lachen:

I remember hearing someone say that once a woman turns 40 she is supposed to wear her hair short because she's too old to wear it long. NO WAY is that true!! My grandmother had beautiful long hair down to her waist and I'll never forget how pretty it was in that one braid she wore.

Oh yeah, I just turned 40 and although I wish I'd started earlier, I'm glad I did start now.

Pfft.
I started my hair journey at 26 I think, BC'd right before my 27th birthday. My hair grows fine and dandy. If I start to have problems, maybe I just need to get out the Centrum Silver LOL!

Seriously, I don't think I've ever seen 27 referred to as "old" before. I'm 28 now and won't be "old" in 10 or even 20 years.

WHAT? I'm 30 (omg did i just say that ...) and i will be 33 and swanging that waist length hair. you bet on it.

dont let it stop you lol.

:lachen::lachen::lachen::grin:

Young lady, I am 36.5 years of age and I am on a mission to have long, strong, healthy hair. You can check my progress in my profile photo album.'

You are never too old to be a better you!

Girl bye! LOL! I got you by 10 years! I started a few years ago, but didnt get serious, seriuos until about 2 years ago - and my hair is the best it has ever been! Sister you are young, very young - enjoy life and your new found hair journey! We are here for you!

Once again thank you all....it honestly was my "friend" making me feel like I was talking crazy by wanting to grow my hair and spending the time it takes to do it....No I am not attention seeking (I don't have enough hair yet!) I honestly just wanted/needed some inspiration....thanks again!!!!

I'm 30 and just started my journey a few years back, but still going strong. :) I say you're never too old to want to take care of your hair and get it the healthiest it can be.

Well good luck to you mami!!! You will learn a LOT from these fabulous ladies here!!! :D

HHG!!!!

As long as your hair is still growing (and it grows from birth to death) you can still start your hair journey.

I know there are several women in their 40's and 50's here (not that that's old at all). Sylver2 comes to mind.

girl wth!! i'm 36 nex month...don't be rushing me:lachen:

27 and just BC'd a month ago. My hair grew to great lengths the last 3yrs I was relaxed so that lead me to believe that with time and patience my hair can and will grow. My sister BC'd in her 30's, my grandma in her 60's and my mother is fixin to in a few months. Ur never too old!!! Will all the information out there ur hair will be down your back in no time.

27?:lachen: Shoooot! I wished I was 27 again! Its enough im 29 and dreading the big 30.:wallbash:

:spinning:So I am a new here and to this process and I am NL grazing SL....I guess I need inspiration because my girlfriend who has shoulder length hair always says that we are too old to be starting a hair journey talking bout we wanna be WL:grin:....she has a beautiful head of hair and its so healthy and my hair is healthy too but I long for something I have never had and that is health plus length....

To make a long story short if you began your journey after the age of lets say 27 (I know so old right!:nono:) Can you show me your progress or direct me to your fotki????

I need some inspiration and the proof that you don't have to be a baby (or less than 25) to have dreams of SL-WL-HL hair.

Thanks.

I didn't know 27 was old :lachen:. I just started my journey about a year ago. My Fotki is in signature.

I am so happy that you decided to join the long hair care journey. I am 34 and I started two and 1/2 years ago at 32. I was a scraggly shoulder-ish length and my hair was really dry, and see thru. My ends are now BSL and natually thick. I have not updated my fotki since I hit APL back in January but you are welcome to it. My profile has my fotki address and password.

Girl I'm 28 (29 next month) and I'm just starting. When you get 50 or 80 you still have to get your hair done...why not care for it properly. Don't let your friend discourage you. Pretty soon she will be jumping on the hair band wagon too.

Good Luck!!!

I just chopped off all of my hair.. I am 2 months from 25.. I know thats not too old to reach my goal of BSL by 28. I know you will be fine. HHG

Your too young! That is the old way of thinking cause my aunts told me the same thing, that once a lady gets a certain age to just cut it off. NO WAY!
I am 36, started on this hair journey at 34 and I can't wait to see how long my hair is when I hit the big 4 0 !!!! It gives me something to look forward to.

Honestly, I've never heard of a 27 year old being too old to do ANYTHING.

But to answer your question, the only thing required of you is to have a strong love for hair - like all of us on this site.

Happy hair growing!!

Errrr Ummm....I won't disclose my age in this post,:look: but I just started my HHJ in 2009 after a major catastrophe at a Salon.:perplexed

Old???? My Little "Cougar-Cub is 27 !" And he thinks I am fabulous.:lachen:

I'll be happy to tell my age. I turned 37 this month and I started my journey in May. Age is irrelevant; it's all about having the will to succeed. And I will succeed...

O/T - I wanna be like Terri when I grow up!

Girl, I am Having the time of my life. No Pressure. Just Chillin'. No Expectations. No Demands.

As I heard on TV Yesterday: "40 is the New 20.":look:

*and anyway right now, it's all about my hair*

27? Old?? Girl please! I started my hair journey in my late 20s, then I kept getting short haircuts and starting over in my 30s. I grew my hair from ear length to about shoulder length in a year with no problems.

Now... I AM glad you posted the question though because I'm 41 and on a new healthy hair journey (natural). I was wondering the same thing so I'm glad to see so many women in their late 30s and 40s doing it!!! :yep:

Thanks ladies!!

I am 45 years old I started my online journey in 2007. Should reach my waistlength goal in 8 months. Then beyond waist here I come!
