Hi ladies! I just wanted to say ya'll are AMAZING!!! I first registered (not subscribed) way back in 2004, but I didn't start consistently visiting the site until 2009...which I really regret. I had full, thick, and almost armpit length hair in 2004, but as soon as I went off to college in 2005, breakage moved in and continued to destroy my hair (severely in nape, and the area between the crown & nape) for the next 3 1/2 years.

Before college I had noooo idea there was so much to hair care (I think the only healthy hair practice I employed was wrapping my hair & covering it with a satin scarf at night); I lived in NY so I always went to the salon. Little did I know, salons in VA (well, at least where I went to college) were subpar. Sooo when I decided to stop going to the salon in VA, I started "caring" for my hair...which only made matters worse lol. Anyway, long story short, mid-February 2009 I rediscovered LHCF and my hair has been recovering tremendously! I just paid my $6.50 last month and I’m excited to start posting and joining challenges (hopefully I can get some before & after pics up soon)…thanks again ladies!

Welcome!! Glad you decided to come back and be a member. I can't wait to see pics. I understand what you mean about going off to college and not having good salon options. Luckily I found LHCF at that time and it really helped me. I was even inspired to go natural b/c of this site.

Well welcome! Long overdueeeee, you got that right!:lachen:Glad to see you're already getting back on track. HHG!

Ya, there's no place like New York, especially the NYC area. When I went to college, I was shocked. I was in another big city too, but it still didn't compare. There was not much available.
Welcome!!

I also live in NYC and when I went to college, my hair suffered A LOT. The picture in my signature is from my college years (the one on the left). My hair was so chewed up and fried...I almost cried. Now my hair is healthier and happier since I am back in NYC and the salons here are MUCH BETTER. The right pic in my signature is how my hair has improved.

Thanks for the Warm welcome ladies :-)

Wow nice progress! I felt like crying too, mostly because I didn't know how to make it better (I took a few pics that made me cringe)...anyway thank GOD for LHCF :-)
