I like this idea a lot because I can't see myself teasing my hair for any reason. I hate the thought of raising my cuticles that way. I would definitely try installing them this way.

Aggie me and you are >here< - no way am I teasing my hair for clip ins. It was not necessary at all, and they did not slide during the course of the day.

:grin:Plus my hair was straight nappy as I was WAY overdue for my 1st attempt @ texlaxing. I have had zero problems with having hair to I can adhere the clip to...

teasing is out of the question and i think its unecessary, unless u have european hair i think us afro americans dont have to worry bout teasing just unessecary stress to the hair.

I am sooooo happy 4 all the great advice, I started wearing clip ons
I bc I relocated 2 a place wear there is noone to do sew ins. My hair was breaking off big time bc ays I was sleepin with the cilp ons, only taking them out fridays 2. Wash & condition. This morning. I parted my hair horizontaly a little more than half, then split that in 2 parts , made 2 cornrows on either side put in the clips in covered the tracks with my real hair on top styled and kept on stepping....took 15 mins. 2 nite I will take cilps out put nite treatmet on. And 2 morrow do the same thing. I will let everyone know how it works 4 me, but I think this could be the perfect protective style.

I have a sew in now. I like it, but I miss having access to all of my hair every week to dc, steam, etc.

Are you ladies clipping hair to braids or just a layer of your hair?

For the ladies that use the french braid method, do you french braid horizontically or vertically?

Thanks

I have been thinking about trying them for a long time, but finally got them. I ordered mine directly from China. They are human hair. I made a friend in China after shopping online so much. Didn't even have to pay for shipping. They sell them on a lot of websites (beauty, hair), and I have also seen them in the BSS. But, the price listed in the BSS is a RIP OFF because its $19.99 for like 1 piece of clip-on extensions in the store, but I ordered a whole set (8 pieces) for under $40.

I was thrilled that I got them for that cost when I saw the BSS prices. I am gonna make my own in the future. I looked at the YT tutorials, and if I can do my own acrylic nails, I know I can do these extensions. Haven't worn the ones I bought yet, waiting to rock 'em for an out-of-town function next weekend. :yep:

OK, Jewell, so off topic, but could you pm me and teach me how to apply my own acrylic nails! That is awesome!!!

Talk about independence from salons of every kind!!!

Thank you SS. Never thought of doing it this way.
I don't see your clips. Are they on the opposite side of the track?

I just made myself some clip on extentions and will post pics in the morning. I wrapped my hair to get it flat tonight. I super glued two tracks together then 2-3 clips in the middle and on the ends. I can't wait to see how they will look on in the morning. I needed an alternate to sew-in's because they are time consuming to install and I need more access to my hair. We shall see!!

Sorry to dig this up...

Ok, so I was so happy to have figured out that sew-ins are not for me and wanted to use half wigs instead as my protective style...but then the wigs just won't fit on my head correctly and I feel paranoid.

Could I possibly use this to hide my hair? I'm so frustrated, and I'm just beginning my journey!!
