Look at who did a BC......

I don't see anything wrong with her hairline and I just think these are bad pictures. That's the price of fame - paparazzi always around so you always have to look good OR ELSE... such pictures float around.

If she had on good makeup, beautiful earrings, a nice outfit and freshly cowashed & moisturised hair, she'd look very good.

Her hair isn't what makes her look bad imo.

The weird clothes and glasses are what do it for me. The lack of makeup doesnt help.

C'mon. A wig or weave isn't going to fix that outfit. The woman would still look strange even if she had more hair

Just being honest. I usually wouldn't say anything, but that's ridiculous.

but I understand. No one is on their A game every second of every day.

I just find it funny that people jump straight to the hair when that's not the "offensive" part. :lachen: Just BAD pictures point blank. I'm sure she could fix it up and get glam if she wanted to.
Really, I think she is uniquely pretty. She just have some bad moments like all of us.

I think she looks cute! The glasses are weird, and the second pic is a bad facial angle, but I say go head girl! She is super confident to cut her hair off knowing the type of media reaction she will get. I mean her sister is queen of the lace front, and she went down that road for a while herself. I always appreciate how Solange tries to do her own thing.

I like it.

Maybe she should have transitioned to have a little bit more thickness, and it would look less patchy. But I applaud her for just taking the plunge in the public eye. When I BC'd, I did not enjoy it the way I should.

So kudos to her.

Please if Solange were a member here and posted, y'all would be like "Oooh girl that's fierce." ...TFOOHWTBS

I can honestly say that I never postin progress or bc threads if I don't think the persons hair looks nice...I can't speak for the rest of the members. I always use the, if you don't have nothing nice to say don't say anything at all reasoning, when it comes to progress threads. Plus if you did tell a member she looked HAM after her BC you would be violating the forum rules.:yep:

This also happens all the time on LHCF, not just with hair. Members post pics of themselves, their makeup, kids, etc. and we say so many positive and encouraging words knowing that if it was a celeb they would be torn to shreds.:drunk:

Hahahahaha...WHy was I just thinking that.....We all know there have been a whole lot of BC here where the sista's didnt have the look for it...:nono:

But we all cheer in because it is a temp phase ....A sacrifice to become a natural ...Free From Chemical Sista.....Same with Solange...Give a Sista a Break....
ITA with the bold. I really think this is why some people do it.

You are a trip. But I will be honest on this subject. I have seen some BC that werent flattering at all. I don't go in the threads and ohhh and awhhh. I will click, look, and come out the thread without a word if it's not flattering. (Hey, it's just my opining. Who am I to rain on someone else's parade.)

I am sure I am NOT the only one around here who can K.I.M.
No need to hurt someone's feelings because they like it and I don't.

I agree with the bolded (in both comments).

I agree, I'm not feeling this on her because it looks thin in some areas. However, I like her BC in the baby shower pics.

It is refreshing to see a black woman in the public eye, BC and look confident. I get sick of seeing weaves all the time.

Wow. What's sad is all I can think is "what are you wearing?!?!?!" :nono: Cute hair, nix the sunglasses.
I can deal with the top, but those sunglasses are STRONG and WRONG. She would have been looking FIERCE with the right accessories. I wonder if she's taking a break from weaves/wigs, or if she's going to continue to rock her natural hair?

Mine was "patchy" like that because I don't have a full, strong hair line like some folks do. Once is grows out a bit, she will be fine.

i love when ppl go natural, i love when ppl BC. but this isnt working for me. even without the glasses and weird clothes, something looks off with the cut.

I give her an "A" for the courage to get a bc and rock a twa in this lace front wig hollywood world she lives in. I give her a "D" for not having someone edge her sides up and an "F" for not putting any moisturizer in her twa. It looks so dry.

....And there you have it. It's not a requirement for you to HAVE to say something.

Wow... I'm not feeling look for her, maybe she should've put on a short wig to see how she would look before doing the BC.

I also think that LHCF ladies support their sister when they are making positive moves and that's very encouraging but Solange is a stranger so people feel free to be blunt.

I love the baby shower look and I am wondering if that bc was because of damage from bad wigs and extension installs. Those edges sure look like it. If so, I feel for her because if she hadn't cut since the baby shower pics that means she might have lost a lot of length. She could use some LHCF.

I don't like it....she looks fat like this. Outfit is wrong. Her hairline is halfway non existant. BUT in a few months, she will be BANGIN!

I think the major problems are: patchiness and it needs to be shaped up. But I am still applauding her nerve. And some aloe vera gel with make it look better. In another year, if she stays natural, I think she may look much much better.

Good for her. Im happy she did this and had the confidence to do something that goes against the hollywood standard of beauty. Kudos to her she looks great.

Some of y'all do know that some hair types you could drench in moisturizer and it would still look dry? Everybody's hair does not shine.

I think a lot of the people on here need to think before they speak. We condemn people for not wanting to show their natural hair and for getting weaves and falling victim to good hair/ bad hair standards, but when someone does a big chop in hollywood we talk badly about them. "Its not working for me" or " I dont like it" What??? I thought we were here to support each other in the journal to healthy hair.

Truth be told there are some people on here that look an even hotter mess than Solage does. But, because the end goal is healthy hair we all support each other. I just think that you need to look in the mirror and make sure that you are on your game before you talk about someone else. Especially when they have done something that you preach as being something positive.
