for asking this question after being around here for so long,..... could someone please give me some recommendations for some good shampoos for Natural (or even relaxed) hair?

I did a search but did not come up with anything specific.

I need something that does not strip the hair
Something more on the natural side (sls, paraben etc free)
Something moisturizing if possible
Something that is easy to find
:look:

I am willing the suck up the price for something really good.

Are you near a Trader Joe's? Their nourish spa shampoo is fab. It's SLS free...though I think it does have parabens. Otherwise, try Jason products.

I really like this one and its conditioner:

But it has chemicals. The best one without those chemicals IMHO is Enjoy:

Of course the best moisturizing unstripping shampoo is a conditioner. It seems a shampoo is not useful if it doesn't strip. :ohwell: Why not just cowash?

Aveda Damage Remedy shampoo
Elasta QP Creme conditioning poo
Mizani Moisturfusion Silk Bath
You could also try WEN or Hair One (Sally's) Cleansing Conditioners. They are very moisturizing and cleanse nicely.

Abba Pure Moisture Shampoo- it is sulfate free and very moisturizing! You can get it at Trade Secrets.

Thanks ladies. I picked up AO White Camelia and Natures gate grapefruit and ginger. I will late you know how I like it.

I went to the Chagrin Valley site and I think I will be ordering the poo bars next time, but how do you use the poo bars anyway?

I love JASON and Organix poos. I've reviewed most if not all of the JASON line and much of the Organix line. You can read my JASON reviews here and the Organix reviews here.

Please post how the shampoo bars work for you, if you do try them...I've yet to try one.

Shoot, you paid your $6.50 just like the rest of us. Ask away! Chagrin Valley shampoo bars are good, I also like Giovanni shampoos. Aubrey Organics Honeysuckle rose shampoo is okay, but I try to use it only after I've pre-poo'ed with an oil or something because it's kind of stripping.

Also the Hairveda Amla Cream Rinse it is a shampoo that does not suds up. Really good to use particularly if you have hair in the 4 category.

So I tried the AO White Camilia shampoo and it felt horrible on my hair.
My hair got very tangled and felt very dry. I am not going anywhere near that mess again:nono:

I also tried Natures's gate Grapefruit and Wild ginger, I liked it just as much as I like the Nature's gate Asian pear and red tea. It is not a "WOW' shampoo, but it does not cause tangles and brittle dry hair. Between the grapefruit and the Asian pear, I would go with the asian pear simply because it smells better.

So my search for a "wow" shampoo continues:ohwell:
I think I might try the sample poo bars from chagrin valley, if someone could please explain to me how they are used.

OT: It's a damn shame when you have to apologize and write disclaimers just to ask a question around here:nono:

Anyhoo, personally, I don't do the natural products because I don't see much of a difference. I like Pantene Beautiful Lengths and the cheapie V05s.
Many nappies use Baking Soda though:yep:

I hear you, things can get all weird around here sometimes, ya know.

I will get on the baking soda thing soon I hope, I tried it before and it did not seem to do nothing for me. Maybe its the ratio of water to baking soda that I did not get right. Any tips?

Try Jason Naturals Jojoba shampoo nad conditioner, Jason Naturals Biotin Shampoo and Conditioner, and Mills Creek Keratin Shampoo and Conditioner.

CON green or red.....

Cosinging on these two but they leave a lot of build up on the hair and you'd need to clarify it. If youdo need to clarify, try Elucence Clarifying Conditioner.

Oh I have another shampoo - Elucence Moisturizing Poo. I love this one too.

That's what I'm saying. This is a hair forum, after all, a place to gather knowledge and discuss things pertaining to hair. Product recommendations fall along that line. And sometimes people don't want to have to search through millions of threads to find what their looking for. It's much easier to just go ahead and ask the question.
