Ladies that take care of other ladies hair as a side hustle, what do you do and how much do you charge (if it's not too much information to ask)? TIA

I'm a styist that works in a corporate salon and it depends on what the customer wants. Most of my services starts at $25.00 and can go up from there. It all depends.

I've thought about it but it's too much of a hassle. These days i barely want to take care of my own hair. Plus i would go about it the "healthy" way. Most of my relatives/friends don't take my advice anyway. So i feel like what's the use of me holding up my end and their not doing the same!? But if someone was really interested i would do it no charge. But i've had too many people asking me to burn (flatiron on maximum heat with 5+ passes) their hair.

I was thinkin about doing the same thing, but I'm kind of moody and don't like to be bothered very often lol. I would only do color, deep treatments and rollersets. Around $20-$25.

and BKTS... 'member????

I often think about it. I don't charge my friends and I do about 3 of them plus my mom. But I don't want "aireybody" up in my home. :sekret: :lachen:

Plus I like seeing how all my many products work on them.. :lachen:

I have one friend that asks me all the time about how i flat iron my hair and get it straight even though my hair is not relaxer straight; she always asks me will i do hers but we always end up forgetting about it; plus she's one of those "your hair is better than mine" type people and results to slpaping on relaxers at the first centimeter of new growth, plus multi-coloring her hair (Think Keyshia Cole when she first stepped on the scene with the blonde on top of the red).

I do hair on the side in college. I charge $15 in our school's money or sometimes my friend buys me dinner and brings it to my job when I work late shifts at work.

People ask me to do their hair all the time since I do mine all the time. Before I had my son I charged 70 for micros (not very small) 40 for box braids. 50 for sew in's and 30 for a hard wrap. I made wigs for 30. I was pulling in 500 a week but it got so tiring so I stopped and plus my son makes it harder for me to do anything lol

besides my daughter and my hair, I do my moms and my aunts hair on occasion. I'm not a stylist... no way near...but I do simple things and treatments for them. I give them hot indian oil scalp massages, deep condition, wash, rollerset, braidout/twistout, ayurvedic treatments, color it for them, flatiron, etc... Also, I give them tips, advice and samples of my products and things like that. Sometimes I give them whole bottles and bars of stuff since I seem to have a lot of product (ex-product junkie) I do It all for free because I want to help them grow their hair healthy. If I had more time in my life to set aside for it and had more experience in styling, I think i'd have a real side hustle making some cash doing something I enjoy doing for free

I have def thought about this. When I was working at a store I really wanted to make myself business cards and hand them out to people with kids who just looked like they needed miracles. Help other moms out and even some grown ups. I would charge about 20-25. All I wanted to do was wash and condtioner their hair. I wasn't going to be doing nothing fancy just doing the basics to get their hair growing.

I might have gave simple styles but I never went through with it.

Oh, back to answering the question at hand, sorry I got side tracked by your siggy pic!
I only do my kids hair but i share tips with some family whoever has been interested since I joined.. I do know how to weave, but i work so hard during the day(on lhcf lol) that i cant even think about weaving anyone's hair during my "me" time...

I do my sister's Great Lengths extensions free. Also I did a curly perm for her relaxed ends once... I was freaked out that her hair would melt in my hands, but it didn't. Surprisingly came out okay. Might be doing a BKT on her, she isn't sure yet. But again, it will be free.

Mostly what I do is mini-twists for young girls (elementary through junior high) and depending on how long it takes me to do their hair, I charge $15-30 bucks.

Advice, ideas and product suggestions are always free  and always come with a warning that "not everything works for everyone" and "be sure to do your research!"
