TIA

I had a problem with see through end in the back of my hair because it was alot of breakage in the back of my head. My hair stylist cut my hair in the back so that it would have a blunt finish and not look as thin. My hair still is very thin in the back. Thats why I joined LHCF so that I could get my hair back healthy. I wrap my hair most nights and it doesn't thin my hair. I'm still in the process of trying to fine some solutions to my hair breakage.

I would suggest laying off the wrapping for a while. I never had the see through ends problem, but I noticed my ends thinning when I was wrapping religously. It also caused temple problems for me.
When I stopped, it got better. I trimmed off the ends that were thinned from wrapping, and my hair looked so much healthier.
If you're deep conditioning 2x/wk and not relaxing too often, I couldn't imagine what else could be thinning them unless you're using a specific product that your hair just doesn't like.

thanks for your replys. i was using motions shampoo then aphogee 2 min reconstructor then follow up with motions moisturizing conditioner but stop coz my hair got 2 soft and was breaking easily so i recently switched to aubrey organics GPB shampoo and conditioner if i shudnt wrap then how to i style my 16wks post relaxer hair at night my hair is about 2 or 3" below nape

Welcome! I think you can choose protective styles such as 2 strand twists, braidouts and twistouts, bantu knots and buns if you opt to stretch your relaxers. As for the thin ends you can either trim them blunt so they look healthier or you can live with them and learn to take care of them. SInce the ends of your hair is the oldest, it is the weakest. If hair growth (for length) is your goal, then trimming your ends every 4-6 weeks may not be the best option. When you trim your end they will get thin or see-through again, so you just have to learn to take care of your ends. Here are several tips that has helped saved my ends (I have not trimmed in 1 year and my ends are ok!):
1. Always oil the last 3 inches of your hair with essential oils & carrier oils mixed...example...jojoba oil (carrier oil) and sweet orange oil, rosemary oil or lavender oils (all essential oils)...even shea butter works! Just make sure your ends are always moisturized!

2. When you do deep treatments concentrate on your ends(not too much on the scalp area...unless you have tons of newgrowth...you want to be able to detangle thru that...but really put most of the protein treatment on your ends).

3. Try the baggie method...this really is a good one! Put on a plastic baggie with oils on your ends, you can sleep in this or even wear it under a pony or phonytail ...this keeps moisture in. A member, DontSpeakDefeat (DSD) has a great album showing how to do this method...you should check out her album!:)

Maybe you should shampoo less. I have found rinsing with warm water then conditioning my hair has done wonders. I condition every four days.

If you are using heat, are you using anything to protect your hair?

Before I blow dry I use: KeraCare Foam Wrap Set Lotion (it works!) $14.99 and worth every penny.
Before I flat iron I use B&B UltraLite Grease on the ends and on new growth and QP Elasta Recovery Moisturizer on the shaft and ends. After which I use QP Elasta Mango Butter on the ends before I put the rollers in.

The point is extra extra protection to the ends.

thanks all. the only time i use heat is when i rollerset and i let it air dry half way. i think i will try some protective styles and c if this helps and mayb nt shampoo as often since i do wash twice a week
