"Water Treatment -- an in-salon treatment, is the newest concept from Japan! It is based on the concept that the reduction of water in the cell is the cause of damage and aging. Purified water is applied to the scalp and an oxygen emitting tube is placed around your head. After 8 minutes we check to see if the water has been deposited. We check this by the temperature of the scalp. (It takes 8 minutes for the blood to be circulated throughout the body.) The process takes about 1 hour. The result is thicker hair because it is filled with moisture."

Has anyone heard of this?

I'm guessing that this is the same as getting a steam treatment without the heat. I have (and just finished using) a clothes steamer that should give the same results.

Why would Japanese women need longer and thicker hair than they have now :) The concept is interesting, I've always thought hair grows from a humid scalp, but you can have the same result by baggying overnight, cowashing frequently, frequent spritzing of your scalp or moving to a humid country :)

I agree. The Japanese are always coming out with some innovative hair technology and they have some of the straightest, sleekest hair ever. They're like the ultimate product junkies!

Probably because the average Japanese woman does not have spectacular hair. The women see hair models with spectacular hair, and marketers can then prey on their self-esteem.

You know, just like they do here. :spinning:
