I have a question. I'm looking for a new leave-in conditioner. preferably creme based. Are either of these creme-based? Also, I hear a lot of ladies use it with rollersets/wraps; if you use it for your sets, are you also using foaming wrap lotion?

I did a search to see if this was already addressed and all i got was polls on which one was better but nothing that specifically addressed the consistency of the product.

TIA!

Lacio Lacio consistency is a little runny/watery while Salerm 21 consistency is creamy.

I prefer Lacio Lacio because I have fine strands. If you have thick strands Salerm 21 would probably work better.

I'm natural with hair texture of 3c on top and 4a on my temples. I use Lacio lacio after each wash because its very light and I seal with Moroccan oil. I brush and use a little Jam for those "tough" tight coils at my temples. I hope this helps.

Lacio is watery and not very moisturizing, it also doesn't provide a lot of slip. But the rollerset results are great!

Salerm is thick and creamy, provides slip and is moisturizing. It's great for airdrying and rollersets.

Out of the two, I prefer Salerm because it's more versatile and moisturizing :)

Thanks so much ladies... I currently use Redken Butter Treat, and I like it, but i'm not in love with it... I definitely love the consistency and how it just melted into my hair and it made my flat iron and roller sets a lot more manageable.... from the looks of things, salerm 21 would be my best alternative... Thanks again ladies!

I haven't used Lacio Lacio, but I do Have Salerm 21 B5:love: . It is a Good Leave-In Treatment. Especially if you are looking for something along the lines of the Butter Treat. (I have that one as well).

I have fine relaxed hair. I started using Salerm 21 maybe a month ago. I love it! Its creamy and I can apply it once and my hair will stay soft and shiny for days. I love the fact that it has silk proteins in it.

ETA: IDareT'sHair...how did I KNOW you were going to be in this thread? LoL!!

I like Lacio Lacio better than Salerm IMO. Both are creamy but Salerm is thicker, Lacio Lacio is runny creamy.

Hey hair cousin........I use the salerm 21 but if you like the lacio lacio, I might have to try that too.

I liked both. Salerm left my hair feeling... well... lush! I also liked Lacio Lacio too. I used them for sets all the time, for years. I did not ever need to use another product after using these, such as foam/wrapping lotion.

When I had a relaxer I used Lacio Lacio and it was the bomb! I had alot of slip and it kept my hair very moisturized (especially when new growth came in). I need to order some ASAP.

I've always been curious about Lacio Lacio. I was waiting for my local BSS to start carrying it (they started carrying Silicon Mix recently). But I may just go ahead and get the pocket sized version from RoundBrushHair.
ETA: Arrgh! Its got cones in it!

LB -- I did not like Silicone Mix at all. I tried to like it especially since I had purchased a 56 oz or whatever that big thing was:look:

I really tried to like it but couldn't:nono: However, I did "sell" it in the Products for Sale Thread.

You are smart for trying Pocket Size Version first (If you really want to try it).:perplexed

Silicon Mix was too much protein for me. I had to mix it little by little with SitriNillah and Phytojoba just to keep from wasting it. The Lacio though...I'm not 100% anti-cones (my EQP mango butter has them), but I'd prefer to steer clear of them.

Lush is definitely the right word for it!

the silicone in lacio lacio may not be an issue for you. I see you use salerm 21 and salerm 21 has two silicones(amodimethicone and cyclopentasiloxane).

Yes...I think you would like it:yep:!

ETA: Lacio Lacio is good for roller-sets but IMO it's not a moisturizer. For my rollerset I use Lacio Lacio to ensure a smooth, soft, shiny set and I spray Aphogee Pro-vitamin leave in for the moisture.

Although Salerm provides the moisture benefit my hair did not have the bounce and softness like Lacio Lacio.

Well I'll be damned. Didn't realize the cyclo stuff was a cone and didn't even see the amodi stuff when I read the bottle. *sigh*

Is Salerm the only leave-in you currently use? I have it, but it is in my rotation.:look:

Are you looking at moving away from Cones?

I have a ton of moisturizers, but this one seemed to be "The One". I used to use cones exclusively (pre-LHCF) and I really suspect that thats why my hair was chronically dry. Well, the cones and my porosity issues. So although I don't mind having them in my edge dressing I really don't want them on my length on a daily basis. I will finish out this bottle and then assess the state of my hair.

Okay: Let me know how it works out. Alba Botanica also makes a Excellent Leave-In, if you are looking for something more natural.:look:

Okay...I gotcha. I think I will get it. I am back to rollersetting for the rest of the summer trying to deal with being butchered. Thanks girl.

So it's safe to say lacio lacio for roller sets and salerm 21 for a regular leave-in I want to cut out foaming wrap lotion too (i currently use keracare) because i can't get bouncy sets.... The curls turn out really cute, but if i was to wrap it and then comb it back down, it's a mess. so i would roll it and pin it up in a cute updo and let it fall on it's own, i've never worn my rollersets down.
