I tried everything that you all have listed here on this forum. I tried relaxing my hair, Texlaxing my hair, I henna-ed my hair, I put eggs and honey and vatika oil and I used caruso rollers and atleast 30 different oils. I tried no combing, no brushing, I even did abosolutely nothing to my hair for a week! I tried BKT and then I tried twists, I drank egg concoctions and did yoga. I spent a FORTUNE on Aphogee! Nothing made my hair waist length! I am completely upset that all these things did not work for me! And I think people saying that these things work are lying!

Ok, I am being sarcastic. Everything does not work for everyone. But I won't go into other people's threads and talk down about thier way of doing thier hair. If it works for them thats great. If I think its dangerous I might say why. Or I may even say "Oh I tried that but it didn't work for me. Glad to see its working for someone else." I am relatively new but I really am bothered when I see threads calling people out by name only to reprimand thier hair choices.

Everyone here has a friend that can eat all day and not gain a pound but you know you can not eat like that! You know not to even try it! I just wish people would be more respectful of other people's choices. At the least if someone is doing something you think is bad, not to call them out by name! HOW RUDE! :nono:

I'm not expecting replies and to those who want to compare this to the entertainment forum, save your argument. I do not think that youtube compares to selling millions of albums and starring in movies.

IMO, when you try everything, nothing works. And how long have you been trying everything again? I see you joined in Feb 2009. Most people don't give up on something until they've tried it for a good while. You can't use henna today and next week and then switch to some other regimen the following week. And then run out and buy whatever it is so-and-so recommended...etc and expect to see any progress. And you can't use 18974379 things at once either. You have to get to know your hair and understand its texture and how it responds to different things so you know how to react to a response you don't like. You also have to understand growth cycles and realize that some people's growth cycle is only 2 years long and so they may only ever make it to BSL if they retain all they grow--and that usually happens when they have a regimen in place, not when they're still doing trial and error.

I haven't tried any of the things you listed so can't really speak for them. And I haven't let other people's celebration of a product drive me to go buy it. Instead I've gotten acquainted with my hair and figured out what in my stash doesn't really work and then researched what others do to counteract the negative effect I found from the product I have. I have found that simplicity works best for me. I may never get to waist-length, but I'm not racing with anyone. I just want long hair whatever that may be for me. I've got longer hair than I had in my childhood so I'm pleased as Punch and will be happier if it gets longer. But I'm just grateful that I am not looking for solutions to any problems at the time being as my KISS regimen, while not a miracle worker, works well for me and makes the hair journey stress-free and quite the adventure.

She was being sarcastic in the first paragraph...

That's because you're being mature.
Unfortunately, it's the way of the world. I know how you feel. It's sad that some people have to do that, but that's the way it is.
I feel you, though.
