I posted earlier about some issues that I had with dreading last night and because of that, I am now in braids and plan to keep it that way until I find a solution.

For those of you who have braids, how do you condition, moisturize, and co-wash your hair? I'd like to keep it this way for a while, but I don't want to suffer any setbacks because of lack of moisture.

Also, if you seal, how does the moisture get into the hair on a daily basis since oil is suppose to seal. Wouldn't that keep any braid sprays from penetrating the cuticle? This may be a stupid question, but I'm not on my game today.:nono:

I basically want to know how to keep my hair healthy and moisturized on a daily basis.

Thank you.

Condition: In braids, I washed and DC'd my hair weekly. I put my dc in a spray bottle and diluted it with water. I sprayed to make sure my hair was evenly covered under the braids. After I rinsed the conditioner, I made sure to spray Infusium 23 spray to give my hair strength under the braids

Moisturize: African Royale BRX spray.

Co-wash: I did not co-wash because I didn't want to manipulate the braids too much so that they could last longer. But I work out, so I simply rinsed with water.

Sticking with this regimen while I was in braids allowed me to retain the most moisture than I EVER have while in braids. My hair was sooo soft after I took them out.
HTH:grin:

Great. Thank you. I work out too, so rinsing will be good. Do you apply the braid spray after your rinse?

To cleanse I only use a bit of shampoo bar diluted in a big water bottle.

I don't really condition when in braids, but I just use braid spray which I tweak with a bit of vegetable glycerine. Alternatively, you could just put some water in a spray bottle and add some glycerine. That should do the trick. HTH :)

What does glycerine do to the hair?
