I am perplexed by the lack of reviews. There are alots of great reviews on the Recession tool...but that cost a good grip... I want to know how the two compare.

I have a little baby Sedu that got right up to my roots soooooo good during the BKT, I couldn't ask for anything better. But for really thick hair I think this tool would be good. I Babyliss makes good styling tools. My new iron kicked tail last night!

I just came across this video on YT. The way the woman is dragging the straightner through the woman's hair; such an awful technique. And for some reason she really started irking me when she kept going on about "challenging hair." Yeah I know it can be but I got the message the first time!

Do you use it on the entire length of your hair or just the roots? I'm going to start my transition again and I wonder if it should only be used on new growth. I've used a 3/4 inch flat iron to touch up my new growth and sometimes I'll just run it down the length of my hair. I think the comb attachment would help tremendously.



I think the Rsession one you have ceramic (preferred) and this Babyliss is titanium. I don't know the conditioning properties of titanium just yet.

I just used it on the roots, no more than the first inch. I used a reg flat iron prior to using it. The little teeth ar SO fine and close together, I felt like I would pull my hair our running it down the length.

The Rsession tools barrel is silver, but on the real, they look pretty much the same to me...I think the Rsession tool was created by a professional stylist FOR professional stylists and so was marketed as such/high end tool

I just do my roots and I part a section (much like I would do for a roller set) and then use the tool to comb down from the root on the top about an inch or so down and then lift the hair and do the same thing on the underside of the hair. It gets the hair very straight from the very root.

ETA: It reminds me of the "Chase" mothod, where ladies use a fine tooth comb and chase it with the flat iron. It's basically the same effect...but it's almost like it's made for dummies bc you just comb your hair and you can't burn yourself...

You will laugh, I have one that sits on stove. I only use a few times a year but it gets the job done..lol.

My stylist used this on me recently and my hair stayed pin straight for ages. It's probably not the best form of heat to use regularly though!

Are u relaxed or natural? Just curious cuz I just got one from sallys today. 36.99 with the sally card. Im 10 weeks post and its a jungle through my roots.

I am so glad I waited!! I got the Recession tool for $39.00 (after using my coupon) from Ulta online.

I am going to use the method you described above on that fist inch or so I can't get really well with my flat iron.
