Nope. Not the one that goes on your hair... I am talking about your food regimen. Having a good diet is probably the number one tip I see on this board when it comes to growing long and healthy hair. So I am curious, what do you all eat on a daily basis good or bad... yeah, I know some people who are waistlength while eating chips and drinking sodas all day long... Please help me by listing at least the top 10 foods you eat on a regular basis...

Here is mine, and it is not an exhaustive list for the moment

Oatmeal
Nuts, Peanuts, Peanut butter:lick::lick:
Rice
Beans (of all sorts you can find on earth):lick:
Fish (lots of..):lick:
Seafood:lick::lick::lick:
Chicken, meat
Okra
Brocoli
Carrots
Plantains
Corn flour
Sweet Potatoe
Water
milk, cheese (dairy products)
tea, coffee (the good stuff ;) )

More to come...

ETA:
I am spicy girl, I eat a lot of spicies and herbs as well: garlic, green onions, onions, chili, tumeric, curry, cardamon, cinamon, nutmeg, star anis, coriander, cumin, thyme

I eat alot of chicken, fish, and rice. I'm a BIG potatoe fan. I hate water though.I'm either drinking soda or sweetened tea. :yep:

I eat all the bad stuff and I get average growth.

I wonder how much growth I would get if I actually exercised and ate better? Hmm..

Here's my list:
Meat - Chicken, fish (NO red meat or pork)
Veggies - At least one salad a day
Fruits - some fruits mixed in my waistlength cocktail
4 bottled waters daily
NO soda or coffee

I'm a former junk food junkie so this is a HUGE accomplishment.

I lots of fish and seafood(no other kind of meat at all)
I drink a crazy amount of water daily
I basically eat a vegetarian diet with fish and seafood added
I eat Chlorella and Spirulina
I drink liquid chlorophyll
I drink a lot of Oolong tea(not for hair, but for weight)
I eat junk food occasionally

My hair always grows better when I eat a good amount of dairy. I drink fat free milk and eat a lot of cheese. I don't do soy milk, regular ol cows milk

Fruit, fruit, and more fruit. I absolutely love fruit.

And fressh fruit juices. I should try to drink more water though. My water intake is definitely slacking.

Oh yay... fruits, I knew some things were missing in my list... I eat lots of fruits...probably too many:lachen:

Great Post OP!

Rice and Beans (I'm Haitian so, these are STAPLES)
Chicken, Seafood, Beef, and Pork
One Serving of veggies: either a raw salad or carrots (I know, it should be more)
Lots of Cheese (Love It)
Yogurt (Greek yogurt because of the high amount of protein)
Peanuts
Water, water, water (At least 64 oz a day)

Protein Shakes every morning
At least 70 ounces of water a day
Flaxseed and CLA
Everything else are things that I shouldn’t be eating.:nono:

My mother is Haitian so I know what you mean:lick:
Honestly I think our food regimen is quite similar:yep:

LOL You are not alone... actually I was expecting more Macaroni and cheese in the replies, but I am glad to see our LHCFers mostly have some good regimen :yep:

:lachen: I so had my hair regimen ready to post..

Umm I don't eat healthy at all :nono: ashamed to say, but you ladies have listed a lot of things that I may incorporate into my diet for nice hair and overall good health :yep: Thank you!

Well, I recently put myself on a diet, so I'm eating pretty healthy these days. A lot of fish and broiled poultry and beef rarely. I eat potatoes, pasta, veggies, and other healthy stuff. I love beans but somehow I forgot to eat them. I have junk foods in small amounts though.

Before I got on this diet I was eating way too much junkfood.

Dont worry you'll get there. The best way to start eating healthy in my opinion is to start cooking your own meal, preferably with fresh ingredients. I am sure our body and our hair prefer fresh veggies to the caned ones :lick:

I wish I looked like you after a period of abusing junkfood:lachen: You've doing great without an healthy regimen, imagine what it will be very soon with a healthy one... I love beans, they are great and full of proteins, so your hair will thank you down the road. Take care.:yep:

Im a Carnivore, so meat, meat and did i mention meat?? :lachen:

actually i dont eat THAT much meat (and i rarely eat red meat) but i love Chicken,Turkey, Turkey Pepperoni, and the occasional piece of fish (im working on that one :spinning:)

umm besides that mixed vegtables, romaine lettuce, onions, bell pepper, broccolli, tomatoes, Almond milk, protein shakes, fruit smoothies, apples, pears, flavored almonds ETC...

You are so sweet. Thank you.

I grew up on beans, and I love them. I think I'll have some for dinner.

Dont talk to a former alchoolic about your Brandy collection, you are killing me right here:lachen: Specially with the diet ice after all that:lachen: I'd had my periods of junkies where I'd just stop cooking at home and order my meals every single from my favorite junk food restaurants... Gosh,:lick: I was pregnant though, so at least I had a good excuse:lachen: So it was probably why I almost lost my hairline after the pregnancy:wallbash:

Good post MAMATO!

I drink at least 6 16 oz cups of water a day (have for years). Don't drink soda, caffeine drinks or alcohol.

Lots of fruits and veggies (salad is my favorite meal)
Protein shake daily
Fish/Chicken/occasionally red meat (only fry about once every three mos or more)
Rice/beans
Lots of nuts, almonds etc
I love wheat thins

Don't eat lots of sweets, but can't give up potatoe chips. UGH!

That's it for the most part.

Hola, am I the only one not taking Chlorella and drinking protein mix:nono: I better start thinking about it... well I bought a bottle of chorella last year before I even knew it was good for health and hair. Really the sales guy was pushing so hard I just wanted to get rid of him... it was quite expensive though. I took a couple of pills and then gave up out of laziness. When I saw the thread about chlorella a couple of months ago, I was like "isnt that the crap the guy was trying to sell me:lachen:" and guess what, when I wanted to start taking some, they had already expired:lachen:We bought two bottles on top of that, one for me and one for my DH...both of them are going to the trash now. I guess it was not for me :drunk:

I don't take Chlorella either. I did however start drinking green drinks about a month ago after reading through some of that LONG thread (I buy Bolthouse Farms, it has a small amt of Spirulina/Chlorella in it). I forgot to add that to my hair diet. I drink a glass a day.

Are you going to get some more? I think I may try it.

I eat alot of chicken, fish, beef (very rare)
Um! Soda and juice (addicted to Pepsi)
Very Little water (hate water)
Love Veggies
Love Fruit
Love Rice

Love sweets(eat them all the time)
Love cheese
Drink milk very rare.

I will be increasing my water intake that is sad!
