Aaaaahhhhhh, new growth. I love it. It feels good. :look:

Who is fondling their new growth right....this....minute?

It's ok...touch it! Feel it. LOOOOOVE IT!!

Wow, I am. It's like you're reading my mind. I got my relaxer about a month ago, and the NG is starting to come in and curl now and I love touching it :D.

See this is the one thing about being natural that's kind of annoying.

My new growth and the rest of my hair all feels and looks the same so I never really have any proof that it's growing.

Me!!!! I love it sooooooo much lol!!!

Embrace it my child :giggle:

See you should already have all the waves and dips your fingers need. You can't tell me you don't feel that at your scalp young lady!!!

I do but it just makes me sad.

I never feel like I'm making progress because I can't quantify it. There's really no way to. Which is pretty much why I ignore my hair most of the time, because I can't really tell a difference from month to month.

At least when you're relaxed, you know for sure for sure that your hair is growing and just how much. Being natural, I believe it's growing just on GP, but I can't really see it, KWIM?

Aww loca :( Why is it dry? Are you slacking on your reg?

I DC and moisturize religiously. For the past 6 months, I've just been having chronic dryness. People are noticing it too. I dont know what to do anymore. I think I'm gonna have to cut it and start wearing a half wig:nono:

I know I'm a 4b and all but this dryness is rediculous.

Anyway, I'm glad your hair is doing well. It looks thick and pretty in your avi.

I've been playing with my barely-there itty-bitty ng waves all day

I love touching my hair, but damn you make it sound like porn LOL :nono: :lachen:

I put my hair in a ponytail so I can stop with the Hair In Afro Disease :wallbash:

I love playing in my NG too. I have to make sure I keep my hair in a bun or wrapped up to keep my hands out of it.

I know exactly what you mean. But honestly, you KNOW all that hair is growing. Do you ever wear styles that stretch your hair like twistouts?

Maybe it's time to try a new moisturizer, up your cowashing, SOMETHING. Don't cut it just yet. Let's try to get to the root of the problem. What is your regimen and what products are you using?

Yeah I KNOW it's growing. There's just nothing to measure.

When I wear my hair out, I wear a puff. Otherwise, it's under a wig. Right now, my hair is too uneven and at such a weird length that out styles all end up looking like a mullet.

At this point, I'm either going to cut it all off and have short hair for the first time ever or just completely ignore my hair until I get past the mullet stage.

I moisturize with Wave nouveau every night and seal with jojoba oil.

I DC every week with jane carter's nourishing conditioner. I shampoo with cream of nature moisturizing poo.

I try to clarify once a month.

I hardly use heat.

I relax about every 10 weeks or so. I was using ORS no lye but I switched back to lye. I was using super because my hair is resistant but I'm gonna switch back to normal.

I'm working on my diet though:look:

I do need to cut it because my sides broke off pretty badly. I cant even wear my hair down anymore.

Do you think it could be the perm??? Also maybe you can try upping your dc's to twice a week. I'm also wondering if you need to clarify more than once a month :scratchchin:

LOL Whimsy just pm'd me about that a few days ago.

I'm gonna take some pics the next time I do a bantu knot out. Right now I'm just rocking my same old Celie braids and there's nothing exciting about that.

I'm not going to cut...but man....sometimes it seems really appealing.

If your hair is coming out bone dry, then diet could be an issue. But, have you had a physical lately? a blood work up? It could be a symptom of something else.

I did go to the doctor. They just said that I was slightly anemic.
Maybe I should have asked to get my thyroid tested.

I was thinking it might be the perm. I forgot to mention when I DC, the next day my hair is still dry like the desert. I really dont know what's going on with this hair of mine. It looks very dry too. I'll try clarifying more.

Thanks for trying to help ya'll.

I want to figure this out so bad. It's like, my heart breaks for you sometimes Loca because it's so unfair that some people have it so easy and you keep running into obstacles. I just wish we could figure out what the issue is so that you can fix it and have the hair that you want.

Me too..It's frustrating to see people get past BSL and beyond and I just want SL:ohwell: I never wanted "long" hair.

I was thinking about making a thread but I was like they're probably tired about me and my hair drama

I really do appreciate the help though..

Ok. I'll be waiting!! Not so patiently :lachen:

Well I'm definitely not tired of your hair "drama".

I just wonder about it though. I mean does your hair just feel dry or is it dry and breaking? Of course you're a better judge of this than I am but everyone's hair doesn't necessarily feel "soft" even when it's at its healthiest. I've noticed that especially with coarsed haired people like my little sister.

And, how was your natural journey? I just can't help but think that relaxers aren't helping. Though, it seems like they would help open up your cuticles so that you can get some moisture in, if that makes sense. Anyway, I wasn't here when you were natural so I don't know if it was better or worse, I just am curious.
