What to add to my shampoo to make it more moisturizing?

I purchased some Organic shampoo for dry hair on a whim from TJ Maxx. It was only $5 but I waited too long after to return it so now I can't get a refund. When I washed with it, it made my hair hard. Got it clean but made it hard. I want to give it another chance before throwing it away, so what can I add to it to give it slip or make it more gentle or moisturizing? (oil, glycerine... what?)

Thanks for any help.

I'd charge that $5 to the game and find a new shampoo. CON Detangling is my good old faithful. You can use that shampoo to wash undies or something if you don't want to just throw it away.

You can mix your shampoo with conditioner and use it like that. I've tried it in the past when I wanted to get rid of my megatek shampoo. It is called the CWOW method. There is a thread on it here. I now use conditioner first, shampoo after, and conditioner again. My hair just loved it. I hope you find more answers to this question.

Thanks ladies for the help. CON is not a fave of mine.. causes buildup on my hair. I have and use Joico products with success but just like to switch up with something different from time to time. I'l check out the CWOW method. If that doesn't work, then I'll just use it to clean my combs and brushes. Thanks again!

IA: You can always use it to clean your Combs, Brushes, and Scarves. That's what I do. You can always find a use for it elsewhere.:yep:

Adding a natural oil like EVOO, castor oil, jojoba, almond, etc may help.

What if your watered it down a little? Or mixed it with a shampoo like CON to create the perfect medium?

Huh...wash undies? :lachen: :lachen:

Buy some Nexxus Therappe. It's usually only around $7 for a nice sized bottle and moisturizing.

If you really want to get rid of it, use it to mop your kitchen floor. Or you can add it to your washer to wash your rugs. That's what I did with Suave Professional shampoos. Both bottles went bad on me, and they smelled like ammonia. Another suggestion: Use it to wash your car or your walls.

If the shampoo hasn't gone bad, then I would add an oil blend like Africa's Royal Hot 6 oils or Africa's Best Herbal Oil Complex, another shampoo, and conditioner to it. This is what I did with Nexxus Therappe. I won't replace it, because it did nothing for my hair.

The better question might be what should I removed... always always always try to choose a sulfate free shampoo. After that I love adding things into products, my favorite add in is coconut oil.

PM,
I agree with one of the other posters. It could be that there is an ingredient in the poo that your hair doesn't really like and you could add all kinds of ingredients until the cows come home but it won't make a difference.:yep: I cannot use any product with cones or SAA. They make my hair crunchy and dry. So before you add anything check to see what the ingredients are.
