I got my sisterlocks finished on Thursday. It took around eight hours total. I'm enjoying the short/curly look.

It looks really good... I feel like an idiot asking but, how was it done. Is it all your hair... (goodness I feel dumb)

Oh OK duh I knew that... I just couldn't see that they were locks. In the pictures it kinda looks like a wash n go. But it is very pretty chica..

They can be taken down easily now, but once they fully loc it'll take months and a lot of hair to take them out. Most people consider them permanent.

I love your hair! This is the first time that I have seen your face. You are so beautiful and I love this new look.

For those wondering here is the link to sisterlock site.

http://sisterlocks.com/

I believe she is the lady that helped with the fight of keeping our right to do our own hair w/o a cosmetology license.

There was a big stink about this in the mid 90's I believe with shops or people doing hair in the home without a license.

Lux I love the look on you. I expect to see your hair down to the floor soon! :)

sisterlocks are my favorite kind of dreads! love em! especially at apl,i think that's the perfect length for them

They look beautiful. About how much does it cost to get them installed and what is the maintenance routine and cost for re-locking/re-tightening if you don't mind me asking.

I have been contemplating on getting them for a very long time. Thanks in advance.

The cost varies wildly based on where you go and how long your hair is. I ended up paying around $550 for 9" of hair, which was $500 less than a price I was quoted years earlier from a different person. It was also only slightly more than the price on the website for 3-4" of hair. Not sure how that happened!

The place I go to charges $150 for retightening. I've read about people getting it done for less though.

It looks great, I love sistalocks, yours are so small, I really can't see the individual locks, you look great

$525.00=install
$100.00=tighten q 6 weeks

They look lovely and "I'm SO Jealous". I have 2 questions.

1. Did you transistion completely or where you texlaxed or Permed?

2. What is the density of your hair? Fine, medium, thick?

I went for a consultation a year ago and was told that my hair is too fine...around the crown area.
