Anybody not like Hairveda product???

The Amala Cream Rinse did nothing for me. I really wanted to like it, but it didn't clean my hair any better than regular water would.

I liked all my other products, especially the CoCasta Oil and Vatika Frosting, but my main issue with Hairveda was the HUGE air pockets in all the products. None of the containers were filled up to the top, and the air pockets meant that some of the jars were missing literally ounces of product. I order frequently from small etailers, and they usually go out of their way to fill up those jars and provide you with a good value. The air pockets just gave me the impression that the Hairveda people really didn't care about my satisfaction as a customer.

I will definitely re-order the CoCasta oil.

Update:
Ordered on 4/16/09 and received today on 5/18/09. I did order during a big sale. I am currently weaved up so I wont be able to use for awhile. I ordered the green tea butter and whipped jelly. Both products were well sealed and had a freshness seal also.

Hairveda is touch and go for me but the few products that work I like

Its something with the oil content of the products...a lot fo the products leave a sticky residue on my hair. The Stritinillah I have to use shampoo after or my hair feels horrible! I will not be repurchasing. I am using the Whipped Clouds now as a moisturizer and I like it. Cocosta oil is a keeper too.

It took exactly one month for me to receive my product (I only ordered one thing). I was about to contact them and request that they cancel my order when I received my shipping notice. I ordered the Green Tea and, although I like the product, I am not sure if it is worth waiting a month for. Maybe the shipping took so long because I ordered during a big sale?

You too huh? I dont think it truly has anything to do with the sale. i really like the product put the turn around time is horrendous. Every time i order the turn around gets longer and longer. 1st order 9 days. Second order 3 weeks, this time i said ok ill order after the sale. 4/29 a sample of whipped clouds and im still waiting... I've seen how others complain, and are told a myriad of reasons, i.e demand and supply, its a sale, its hand made, she has personal issues... what it all boils down to is, its a business albiet a small one ... and, when i or others spend money, i feel i or we have a right to receieve ours goods in a timely fashion, or at least be communicated with.... i might just have to try other lines sadly

I hear ya on that...

I tried almost everything from that line and most of it wasn't that great. I love the green tea butter, but it's not worth the month wait to get it. Their wait times aren't worth the product.

The almond glaze is too heavy.:nono: I like the vatika frosting and the strinilliah mask. :yep: Both together are great as a pre conditioning treatment with heat. I have the whipped clouds. I don't care for the smell. It seems OK. The jury is still out on it. Order time is long during the sale, which is the only time I order. I think I will give some other products that rave about here, a try.

Umm.. this is a "what you didn't like about hairveda thread".. why are you and that other one even in here? Y'all like the hairveda guards!! LMAO.. You on the payroll????:lachen::lachen:

I ordered the following (arranged from superbad to "I'll deal with it"):

Whipped Clouds
Whipped Ends (Baggy Cream)
Green Tea Butter
Almond Glaze

The only thing from Hairveda that has really worked for me is the CoCasta Shikakai Hair Oil. I wanted to love this line but atlas, it's not for me.

Unfortunately, hairveda products did not work well for my hair (natural 3c/4a). I too wanted soooo badly to fall in hair love with them. I've tried the almond glaze, herbal green tea butter, whipped gelly, whipped cream, sitrinillah masque, moist condition 24/7,moist condition pro, cocasta shikakai oil, vatika frosting. But on the upside, auditioning these products helped me learn that beeswax and hydrolized vegetable oil don't play nicely with my hair.

I must agree with Fabulosity re: the wait:ohwell: The 24/7 and whipped baggy cream are so similar that I find that I could do either 1 or the other. I notice a drastic difference in my 2 yr old after using these two though. Her hair is so much softer. The green tea and whipped clouds is awesome for her, but a lil too heavy for me and my other daughter who are relaxed. Shescentit's Seyani butter works better for our relaxed hair as it doesn't weigh it down as much. However, we all benefit from the Alma rinse, Shikakai shampoo, VF, Cocasta, AvaSoya, Almond glaze for edges, whipped gelly for twist/braid outs. After using our aloe spritz, we seal with cocasta and oil and massage our scalps with the oil too.

The sitrinila was just ok. I liked shescentit's banana brulee and fortifying mask better. Once I compared the ingredients, it was obvious as to why that was the case. I really didn't notice anything with the moist cond. pro. Won't be ordering it again. Guess I need to mention that we use amala rinse for cowashes only.

I really didn't like the whipped cream. I use and love the green tea butter and almond glaze. The vatika I can take it or leave it. I actually prefer the smell of reg coconut oil more than the smell of the vatika.

Me too. Way too sweet. I love regular Vatika Oil but the frosting is too sweet smelling.

I love:
Amala cream rinse
Moist condition 24-7
Cocasta oil
Whipped Gelly
Sitrinillah Mask

I plan to reorder those
Not so great:
Vatika frosting (love the consistency but the smell is just too sweet)
Almond Glaze - too heavy for me I think
Green tea butter (I liked it but I think its just too heavy for my hair... I think my hair hates butters no matter how much I try to make it like butters.. except SheScentIt Gillian butter-- hair loves that).

Scared to try Whipped Clouds on my hair but great body moisturizer
Not giving up on the butters yet though. I just tex-laxed and trying to get used to it and figure out what works on it vs my natural hair.

Green tea butter is my fav too. but, a month is way to long.. this morning i looked and the shipping dates still were not updated! I looked again this afternoon and now it says orders from 5-1 to 5-10 will be shipped out by Friday.... um... ok well they last update was for order from 4-15 to 4-18... so am i to assume people who ordered from 4-19 thru 4/30 orders were already shipped out? If so i receivied no notice....Ugh... im really wondering if its worth the hassel... y hair is doing great but that could also be attributed to lack of manipulation and no heat since Feb.... i think im going back to shescentit, at 1 point i felt it didnt work for me but i think it was the technique i was using.... this wait time is for the birds..

I hear ya on that...

ugh and the wait continues... I finally broke down after seeing the order status upate go from 4-18 orders shipped out to 5-1 thru 5-10 shipping out by this Friday, i was like WTF what happed to orders from 4-19 to 4-30?? So i emailed on Tuesday and got a response on Wed that my order was shipping out that day 5-1, which totally went against what was on the side considering i ordered on 4/28. I was to receive a shipping notice within 24 hours... its now Saturday and um.... no notice and I emailed again stating i had not received my shipping notice, no reply.. i assume it will just magically show up.. Ugh its like dating a guy you know is bad for you, he tries your patience... makes you look for other men (products) and then when he finally shows up he makes you (hair) feel oh so good... and you keep coming back for more lol...

Girl... if this analogy ain't SPOT ON.. I don't know what is!

I hated the Green Tea moisturizer and the Whipped Clouds. The Cocasta oil was too thick for me and I gave it away.

I loooooove the Whipped Cream, Avosoya Oil, Vatika frosting, the strinilliah deep conditioner, and Moist 24/7 conditioner (like buttah). At first I wasn't too crazy about the Hairveda Amala shampoo but it COMPLETELY got rid of my son's dandruff. Nothing else worked for him and he had a severe case of dandruff, but after using the Amala for a month he has been completely cured. I also love the Whipped Gelly, but use it on my ponytails since it has a light hold.

It's not that I didn't like it.. just wasn't anything special that stood out. It didn't do anything special for my hair. I have used the Green Tea Butter, Almond Glaze & Shea aloe butter. I would not not buy again..

The only product I would re-order is the Whipped Gelly for slicking back hair in ponytails and buns. Great non-hardened hold! I would maybe order the oil too...I use it one edges and occassionally to seal. The smell is annoying though.

The Whipped Ends I liked (sample size) but probably wouldn't order a big one.

Vatika Frosting-big no! Apparently my hair doesn't like coconut oil!

The deep conditioner seemed good though I wouldn't spend $$ for one extra ingredient that I could add myself (castor oil) to the 24/7.

The 24/7 is ok, nothing stand out and not a lot of slip. As a deep conditioner with castor oil added it's fine. Would not re-order.

Green Tea butter was terrible for me.

i love the vatika frosting!! that is my favorite and only thing i would probably order again:lick:, but shescentit has that seyani butter and that is just as nice and the shipping time is much more speedy.

the first order of whipped baggy cream i'd placed way back when, i really liked, so I ordered another whipped cream to have a refill on hand and that one was different...:ohwell:

same for the green tea stuff... the first one was whipped and my daughter and i liked that one alot, so i re-ordered... the second one... was a slimey, nasty, greasy mess... not at all whipped:nono:--waste. *this was during the cooler months, so it did not melt down.

the almond glaze was alright... til it broke my sides of my face out:blush:... not good for my edges.

cocasta... nice and thick... dont really love the smell... sitting in my "forgotten basket" for now.

stirnallah... as much as i wanted to like that stuff... i have tried many different ways to use this stuff-- not a good fit -- def will not order that again.

so if i had to say what i do not like about hairveda would be:

inconsistency - variations in quality of the product (whipped baggy cream and green tea butter)

timeliness-- life / business variables understood, but to place an order and forget what you ordered because its been a month and then some; thats a long time and that money could be spent on more "instant gratification".:perplexed especially around the holidays.

these are two very important components in keeping me a happy customer.:yep:

Uh-oh. :look: So it's been almost A MONTH and you haven't received any products, and no response to your emails??

I feel like I've seen this before. There is a bath & body etailer that was super successful, everybody loved their stuff, but their CS was exactly like you described. People kept buying from them, and the wait times and CS got worse and worse, and still people were blindly loyal...until it all crashed and burned. It took me four months of almost daily emails, and the threat of serious legal action, before I finally got my refund from those people. I hope I'm just being overly paranoid, and that you get your order soon...

i tried the Amala shampoo-smelled like dishwashing liquid. i guess it's a clarifyer cause my hair felt kinda stripped
whipped cream-didn't do anything, had wax bits in it. forgot the scent
SitriNillah mask was ok, nice orange creamsicle smell too-and i usually dont like citrus scents
methi sativa protein-i dont wanna say anything bad about it because 1-i'm protein sensitive, and 2-i used it but i dont think i needed protein. it's seems kinda strong. not too big on the herbally/minty scent
vatika frosting-loved the angel food cake smell! but i didn't get softness like i hoped
