hey ladies  I was just about to order a fresh supply of ubh con/moist and noticed that all of cathy's pics on her site she is doing the head scrunch to give the illusion of longer hair...:ohwell: I used to think these pictures were soooooo great and beautiful (before good hair care) and that i would be lucky to even come close to this length:lachen: Her hair initially looked MBL but after a closer examination it might be BSL....still beautiful, just funny that even though she has long hair she still breakin out with tha head scrunch..haha:rolleyes:

Yeah, her hair is definitely more in the BSL/APL range these days. She's older though now, so it may be that she is aging/hormones.

She aint the only one that neck scrunches or hunches those shoulders... I see a lot of that.

I don't think she's trying to pretend that her hair is any longer than it is.... people just look better at angles than straight on or whatever. I think she just picked the pictures that looked the most youthful, lol.

I agree. I think she was going for a glamour/youthful look. We want to make sure we don't always associate long hair with healthy hair. I've never read her book or used her products, but from what I know of her, she pushes retention and healthy hair practices for everyone. And just like someone said ^^^, she's older and that has to do with it as well. Most importantly, she's a business woman and I'd prefer a neck tilt than her wearing a weave and pushing products. :nono:

I'm going to have to give her the benefit of doubt here that she's trying to look sessy and youthful in these pics.

She does have a nice shape and nice skin

how the h3** do you look youthful doing a neck scrunch??? Does it pull the skin on the face back or something? LOL!!! Her face, body, clothes would still look the samenif her head was up straight. Maybe i would believe the neck scrunch was for a more youthfull appearance IF it was only one or two pics instead of every one.

It hides the aging neckline:yep:

:yep: And how many hair product advertisements are of women with a straight forward "mug shot" type of picture. They have their hair spread out in a fan or blowing in the wind or dancing to show swang. It could also be the lighting hitting her at a certain angle to make her look younger. There are oodles of possibilities. I really don't think she is trying to deceive anyone.

I know what u mean and understand about not preferring that pose. It appears to me, that maybe she is trying for a whole head hair shot including her ends and not thinking of length only. You can estimate her length from the photo and maybe that's all she wants.

I thought her hair was kinda rough for a hair Guru too.

Awwh man... I can't say anything bad about Cathy (regarding her hair, not attitude :look:). She was my first hair teacher.

^^^^^I see that scrunch too, but I agree with others. She's probably just trying to get the best angle. I would have liked to see a straightforward pic, though. Her hair looks a lot better in person actually. I saw her at a hair show about 5 years ago and it looked gorgeous.

She looks good for an older woman, and she was who led me to this site, but I'm not too much impressed. Overall, the pics are pretty. I don't think she is tryign to do length shots like how we do here. Her audience is the general Black audience that knows nothing/little about haircare. They don't care about length shots, but they surely do like seeing some "hurr"

shoot, folks on here love tryin to pull an okie doke with the neck scrunch and the shoulder shrug. :look:

her hair is very pretty.

I've never read her book(s) or used her products, can't comment on those.

She does have nice skin. Can't deny she has some length, though I don't know what it is. However I am not impressed by her hair.

IDK, she may need a haircut?:ohwell:

Shoulder hunch/neck scrunch :lachen: Why would anyone, intentionally, do that? SMH!!

I don't think she was trying to make her hair look longer in the photos. I just think she was trying to find ways to showcase her hair.
