So, I am having a package shipped to me and I just got a message from the lady saying that she was sick with some sort of gunky head cold and was shipping out late. She's in TX!!

Do they still irridate packages before they are shipped? I may toss it in the microwave before opening it.

I just plan on washing my hands after opening (and throwing away) the box and washing off the bottles with hot, soapy water

(this is what I do anyway cause I'm kind of a germaphobe )

Hun, its just the flu Be sure to wash your hands (and if you are REALLY paranoid wash the bottles) and you will be just fine. Regular old soap and hot water will do

Sunshine, stop making the news make you panic. The regular flu has killed millions. Less than 1000 people in a world of billions does not qualify as a pandemic. ANY FLU IF NOT TREATED HAS THE ABILITY TO KILL. Go listen to the news else where. Things dealing with economy, warfare, Women's rights. China, Pakistan, Afghanistan. Texaco ruining the Ecuadorian rain forest. Worry about the Chrysler workers who are about to lose their job due to the Chapter 11 filing and merger with Fiat.

YOU ARE BEING DISTRACTED FROM THE IMPORTANT THINGS.

Wash you hands. If someone is ill don't kiss them, eat from the same plate or drink from the same cup. Swine flu is not new. Do some research. We are making Roche labs become richer.

I live in the SA area and one of the closed school districts is like 5 miles from me.
I work in a gym and since they've closed down the district, all these high schoolers from the "infected" areas have been coming here to work out and play basket ball. I've been fine and I've dealt with them everyday this week!
And like others said just practice good hygiene (wash hands frequently), and don't let anyone sneeze/cough near you

Boxes and packages usually look dirty anyway when they arrive. My mom actually transfers the delivered package to another bag when things arrive and forbids the delivered package to be placed on tables, chairs, etc. We wash our hands anyway when handling deliveries. But OP, thanks for this post. It will make me think more of how important that is and not be half hearted about washing the hands.
