I got jealous of all of those BKT threads. Thought I'd post something.

Relaxers every 6-8 weeks

co-washing daily ( using Hair One now )

moisturizing with Cantu Shea Butter and Coconut oil.

The only ayurvedic produst I have used in the past six weeks was coconut oil.

Check out my album!

I'm confused. If you don't use any ayurvedic products...how is it an ayurvedic update?

I do use them but this past six weeks I took a break from the powders. Coconut oil is a staple in ayurvedic haircare. Oh, yeah I forgot I did a henna herbal rinse.

Looks great. I've doing do Ayurveda for about 4 months and so far so good. I want to incorporate henna in my reggie but don't know how. Do you have any tips?

Henna is the truth. When you do decide to work it in with your routine, you'll be banging your head against the bathroom counter wondering why you waited so long to use it! :yep: jp.

& to the OP, your progress has been great. Share your Ayurvedic reggie please?

I would recommend reading the Henna threads that is what I did. Maybe you can find a mix. In my henna herbal rinse, I mixed 6 oz of water ( preferably distilled ) to 1 tbsp of henna and 2 tbsp honey some coconut oil and evoo. Mixed in a coloring bottle and applied to my hair. Messy, messy, messy. Let sit for 1 1/2 hrs. and rinsed. My hair did feel funny. I co-washed the next day and the day after and my hair was soft as silk. Fo Real :lachen:. I moisturize my hair daily which will help combat any dryness.

Why did you take a break from the powders?

I usually use the paste but I got lazy. Then I henned my hair and decided to jut keep my hair moisturized since it has a reputation for drying your hair.

Any one with any questions. Pm me, okay.

Kellum,
You can try a henna gloss which is good for conditioning/strengthening. I am doing one right now and I mixed 2 tbs of henna, Tresemme' Vitamin E condish, EVOO & Coconut Oil. It is messy because I just put the mixture in my hair with my hands, put on a plastic cap and sit under the dryer for 20 mins. Some people add a little lemon juice and heat for a color release, I've never used henna for a color release.

Then choose when you want to incorporate it.

HTH!!

I stopped reading your post went in the bathroom, mixed my powders and am sitting here with the mixture on my head right now! I remember when I use to do this daily when I first joined the site then I stopped and started with Ovation/Megatek. This summer I'm going to use my powders daily.
