Hey ladies i need a little help. I recently realized that my ends "about 2 inches" need to be trimmed!! Im hitting my next goal of BSL and would hate to lose what i gained so far in my stretch. I wear my hair in braids my whole stretch and was with my hair out about 2x per month so i dont notice my ends. I moisturize and seal nightly and wear my satin scarf and baggy full head nightly.

Anyway is there a way to repair them? I never used porosity control on my hair before and was planning on buying today until i found out someone has been into my bank account !!! So i dont have the funds right now. But is there a way to get them back on track? I really dont know what caused this.

I DC once a week now overnight in a plastic cap and shampoo with creme of nature red ladel with every DC. I moisturize with either Wn moisturizing finshing lotion os S-Curl and seal with JBCO. I was using evoo until i got JBCO recently. I will DC with either Silk Elements Mega Cholesterol or the ORS replenishing pak in the bottle. I dont do the ORS overnight. I air dry in twists or big braids then i Moisturize and seal for the night.

Im sorry this so long but i need some guidance cause i dont know what to do besides cut it off which is not something i dont want to do. I was considering trimming a little at a time but if its a way to save my ends please help me. Thanks Ladies!

Well, IMO.....u need to baby your ends for a while.....but in the long run you will have to cut them, cuz they ends will only get worse and your hair might start to break off, but baby them first, and try to make them better, but the only way to get rid of them is to cut them.....my ends are ok, but and I have trim since aug 08, and I'm trying to go atleast two or three years with growth to see how long my hair can get, and I'm going to baby my ends and then cut them...That's the advice I have......but if you feel that u need to trim them, then go ahead, it's your choice...

Thanks ladies! I will try to baby them. They are just nasty looking. The last time i wore my hair straight for my hubby b-day i kept looking at my ends cause they dont look healthy. Maybe i will trim them off and hope to gain the length back by Sept. Thanks again ladies.

Considering that I am newbie to LHCF, I don't want to get my head chopped off for what I am about to say. I don't like the idea of "babying" ends:catfight:. A person's hair can be beautiful and long, but then the ends are all different lengths--that's not cute, imo:nono:. I prefer everything being even, it has a more healthier look to me. But, it's your hair, and only you know what's best. HHG

how did you dry you hair? often times air dried hair looks frizzy & damaged when it really isn't. Do a spot check of your ends by taking 1 strand of hair and actually looking to see if you really have split ends (or not)... do this all over because your ends may not be as bad as you think they are.
sometimes i think we mistake frizz/fuzz for damage.
