I was checking out www.everettescornrows.com which is waaay up in Detroit,Michigin (i'm in Alabama ) but I am considering attending their 3 day braidtek class if it's worth my while.

I did my first paid head of two strand twist last night and they came out nicely but it took me 8 hours!!! It should not take that long. I'd love to be trained in a classroom setting if possible so that I can become a master of this trade I'm beginning to love.

Soooo, with all of that being said - Has anyone ever attended a braiding seminar/academy/class or etc? How was it? Any recommendations? Was it worth it? Did you learn anything you couldn't have learned via video or with just plain ol' practice?

The course I'm thinking about taking is a 3 day weekend for $500.00 and promises to teach a good amount of stuff in three days.

Thanks!! :feedback:

Detroit Michigan, eh?

My sister goes to a braiding academy now, but hers is in Macomb, MI. My sister talks about a lot of crazy ish she learns at her braiding academy. She believes every word of it too. I just roll my eyes.

But, I would take it just to learn how to braid. I don't see myself making a career out of it.

Thanks. What kind of crazy stuff? I don't want to make it a full time career, but a wonderful way to add to my regular income.

My friend went to one in Nashville,TN. She now has her own shop and makes around 1000.00 weekly. She does cornrows, micros, twist, dreads, etc.

Nashville, TN?? That's much closer to me and I can drive instead of fly. It would be a much cheaper trip. Can you tell me the name of it??

Thanks in advance.
